“Very small but lovely”

Cleanest, friendliest and just most adorable hostel I've ever stayed in. The location wasn't perfect but easy enough to get around by public transportation. The rooms are very small and the futons are not very thick and were to short for me, but that's what you get when you want to experience the japanese style. Everything was very clean, great staff and many cute details everywhere. Totally recommend this hostel!

This little, charming hostel is great!

It's located in a quiet neighborhood, next to the Minami-senju station (Hibiya Line). You have supermarkets and 7-11 near here, and izakaya as well.
There is good connection to most of the sightseeing spots of the city. Even the Tokyo SkyTree Tower is relatively near from the hostel on walk.

I stayed in a single private room with window, bed, TV, side table and air conditioned.
During my stay, the wifi didn't work quite well. Sometimes I hadn't enough reception in the room (maybe because of the typhoon), but it worked fine in the living room.
The Room, toilets and showers were very clean. The kitchen wasn't that clean (mostly because of some guests), but the facilities worked properly.

The staff was very nice and helpful since day one (extra thanks to Raoul and Maho).

If I ever come back to Tokyo, I will stay there again. No doubt

The hostel is in good location. It is accessible to most of the sightseeing spots. And the neighbourhood is quite and peaceful. The price of those rooms are unbeatable. And the staff is helpful. Definitely stay here again when travel in Tokyo.

Room Tip: A dorm room is on the fourth floor. So if you travel with the elderly, better stay in a single priva...

Convenient location and only a short walk to the metro. The whole place is very clean and welcoming. Good wifi connection even on the third floor. Hot and powerful showers, although you do have to pay a further 100 yen to utilise them. All in all we've absolutely loved our stay here!

We stayed in a 4.5 tatami room on the second floor. The room was an adequate size - definitely reasonable for the price, and we were also provided with a shelf, coat hangers, a side table and a TV. There was an air con, fan and you could open the window. The room smelled and looked clean and after a week the staff offered to change our sheets and vacuum our room. The futons are very comfortable here.

The manager is very friendly and kind, he helped us numerous times. The other staff seemed not particularly friendly.

We were there for almost 3 weeks and the Aizuya bar/restaurant was closed every day (not sure why?) so a free breakfast of toast was provided.

There is no elevator in the building (this is common in Japan), however the 10 minute walk from the station is doable with large luggage.

The location is okay, however if you are going to Shibuya or Shinjuku regularly as we found we were it takes at least 30 minutes. There is a 7-11 and supermarkets nearby though.

Yes the showers, you have to pay 100yen. It's not a big deal.

The only thing which really needs improving is the kitchen. It is very small and extremely dirty (the rest of the hostel is spotless). There also wasn't much crockery - we wanted to use bowls but could only find one. The toaster oven is either very old or half broken, it took 7 minutes to lightly grill toast. The refridgerator did not seem to be emptied regularly as there was food with the same room number as us in there for several weeks ... If you are going to stay a long time and plan on cooking for yourself regularly maybe consider somewhere with a better kitchen. Apart from that however it was a great hostel!

With very affordable price range for rooms (dorms or privates), Aizuya Inn is excellent value! It has everything you need to be comfortable and relaxed on a budget. The staff are very friendly and accommodating of the needs of guests, and go out of their way to be helpful. This includes great tips and info on all the things to see and do in Tokyo (and beyond). About 8 minute walk from the station down a 5-lane main road (then 50m of to the left), with a 7-Eleven at half way, the location is very quiet and safe inner suburb. Great cheap supermarket across road open till 11pm, also does great sushi/sashimi etc, often discounted up to 50% at night, was fantastic! Excellent proximity to public transport, train and metro stations and buses, and a couple of Tokyo's best locations a 20min walk (or shorter bus) away in Asakusa markets/ Senso-ji Temple. Tokyo Skytree not much father from there. All other great suburbs of Tokyo easily accessed using JR train or metro lines. Bike rental is great too! a couple of dollars. Same as any location in Japan, if you need a western style bed be sure to request one. Otherwise the traditional Japanese rooms, with tatami floor and futon beds are clean and comfortable and provide an authentic Japanese living experience. Free wifi is great, and desktop computers for free use as well. Sometimes a free dinner party night is performed! Great place, I stayed for weeks, definitely will return.

Room Tip: Request a western bed if you specifically need one.

I had a pleasant stay at Aizuya Inn as the place is clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful and the price is good for Tokyo standards. Moreover, I also enjoyed the travellers that were there as well. The only negative point is the location as it takes around 35 or 40 minutes by train to go to the main places in Tokyo, not counting the 10 minutes walking distance between the place and the Minami-Senju station. But most of the hostels are located within the Taito and Asakusa areas like Aizuya Inn. Thus, if you look for an affordable place to stay in Tokyo, I definetely recomend Aizuya Inn.
