“super nice and helpful staff”
Reviewed October 30, 2012

I came to this hotel before some years and for my trip in this year, it was clear to choose Oak Hotel again.
With any problems (where to go, which train to choose, need of additional blankets in the room (...) the staff is really helpful and very good in English! Parties within the hotel makes a familiar atmosphere.
The hotel itself is very easy to reach. I you once found it (only walking along the street) you will never forget how to come there. From the nearby Ueno station it's easy to reach almost every part of Tokyo via Yamanote line. The rooms are comfortable with a small but nice bathroom (fresh towels every day), television, and a comfortable bed. The rooms are cleaned every day. Eventually fear of not clean beds or towels (which I had at first time) are absolutely not needed!

Oak Hotel is a very good accommodation to visit Tokyo. It's really close to underground station, noodle shops and mini markets, rooms are small but very tidy and cozy, it's extremely cheap and the staff is absolutely nice and helpful... highly recommended!!!

My sister in law and I are currently staying here, having arrived last Saturday. What a hidden gem! Ok the room is small but then most Tokyo hotels have small rooms. The staff are very friendly and can speak in English. Lots of helpful news on the noticeboard. Free wifi in the room, minutes from the metro, room cleaned everyday and great price. We would definately stay here again.

We stayed six nights in a small double room with bathroom. The staff were extremely helpful, suggesting trips and arranging a visit to a sumo training session. They also spoke very well English. Very close to subway station, walking distance to Akihabara. All in all, you get a lot for your money with this hotel compared to many other budget places in Tokyo/Japan.

Maybe 600 m from Asakusa exit of Ueno Station. staff very helpful with good English. Free access to Internet both wifi and in house computers. Rooms are small compared to Western expectations but for the price - no complaints. Air conditioning and electric jug were welcome. Beds are very firm but comfortable. Close to many noodle shops and mini marts. Bicycle hire available also to get to Asakusa down the road.. We would stay here again.

Stayed for a few days at The Oak Hotel, staff were really friendly and spoke good English.
Lots of maps up on a wall with pictures of where to go and what to do, as well as some little phrase books, hotel provided courtesy umbrellas for rainy days which was nice (tip if umbrellas aren't outside regardless of how the weather looks in the sky, chances are it isn't going to rain)

Room is small, but look at realistically, it is cheap, and it is everything you want and need in a room, it has a bed and washing facilities, Japan is a wonderful place so your only time in the hotel should be to sleep and wash, and it is does just that

15 minutes from Ueno walking, 7/11 just down the road to get money out if you need money, close to Inarchio station, close to Mcdonalds which actually tastes really nice and handy for early morning starts when not a lot else is open for food.

Really a nice hotel all around, bear in mind it is a cheap hotel

Room Tip: Western style
