We walked through here in going from Asakusa to Ueno. Though we did not buy much, we enjoyed looking. There are supplies both for commercial kitchens and for personal use at the many shops along this street. Make sure to visit the shop that sells the life-like food (see photos below).
I’m travelling with a chef so of course we had to check out Tokyo’s kitchen supply area. There’s a few knife stores here where you can find some beautiful knives, and then lots of other stores with gorgeous Japanese kitchen equipment and dishware. If only everything wasn’t so easily breakable in luggage, I would have bought more! It’s also located close to Sensoji temple, so we made a nice little side trip out of it.
If you like to cook or eat, this areas shops are worth visiting. So many options, many excellent quality items. Highly recommended place to visit. Overwhelming the number of shops and offerings. Wish we had more time to explore more.
It’s a cute street full of food supply djops a couple of blocks from Taito-Asakusa. I enjoyed looking at all the plastic food merchandise in a couple of stores. I ended buying chopstick rests for less than 100
Yen at one of he shops.
A great place for a stroll if you’d like to get some Japanese ceramics, kitchenware, souvenirs. Great for things like teacups, plates, chopsticks, chopstick rests, knives. Inexpensive.
