We had three separate stays during a 3 week tour of Japan and therefore stayed in 3 different rooms. 2 of them, and one in particular, were really small, as is often the case in Japan. Being small isn't necessarily an insurmountable problem, if the room is well designed and one of them really wasn't. It was a double room but there just wasn't anywhere to put a suitcase where it could comfortably be opened. One of the other rooms was manageable and the third was much better. The rooms were always clean and the facilities were fine - ample good quality toiletries, powerful showers and the wi-fi worked well. An excellent feature was the provision in your room of an i-phone for guests. The location is excellent - a couple of minutes from Tawaramachi metro station, or a 15 minute walk from Ueno station, which you can reach using a Japan Rail Pass.
The crowning glory of the hotel, though, is the obliging nature of the staff - they are always available to help, are particularly friendly and are very efficient. They allowed us to leave a suitcase with them between stays and unhesitatingly did all they could to ensure that we enjoyed our stay.

Known hotel in Asakusa (Tokyo) a lot of voyagers.
The rooms are quit small, you need to be organised when you are two with luggage.
Very clean place.
Very efficient and helpful staff.
Restaurant don't expect good food: disappointing, breakfast: don't go there. Its better to buy food and coffee next door!
Very convenient for its situation 5 minutes walking distance to the metro (Ginza line).

Room tip: Very quite rooms

Generally the hotel was ok but the lack of efficient WiFi proved critical to me. Despite numerous complaints to the reception they did nothing to solve the problem. Their WiFi just simply didn't work. A big black mark from a travelling society they relies heavily on efficient communications

We stayed at this hotel for 9 nights in the spring. Very friendly staff and a great location, the subway and sensoji temple and skytree are within walking distance. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, people complain about Japanese hotel rooms being small but honestly, you are not going to Japan to stay in your room all day. Also, my other half is 6ft 8 and didnt have any problems staying here so shorter people have no reason to complain about room sizes ;)

This was the first hotel we stayed in for our trip to Tokyo.

People talk about the small rooms but also remember hotels in Tokyo and other parts of Japan can be smaller than Western hotels. We stayed at Agora Place for 4 days and found it useful for visiting Asakusa and Ueno but also as it's literally 1-2 min walk from Tawaramachi station , we could get to most of the first time tourist spots in Tokyo that we needed.

We had breakfast once which wasn't our cup of tea but would have liked to try the restaurant for dinner - we just didn't get the chance.

The staff at the hotel were great, we really found all of them helpful and friendly.

We're planning another trip to Japan and would 100% consider Agora Place again.
