“Tiny rooms but very convienient!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 27, 2012

Lovely location and helpful staff. The wardrobe is about 6 inches wide, and we did end up having to step over our bags quite a lot, but the rooms were clean and the bed, although small for my 6 foot 3 boyfriend, was extremely comfortable. Would recommend for the location and excellent value for money

I stayed at the Agora Place Asakusa hotel for 6 nights. The rooms where small, but unless you plan to live in the hotel room it's not an issue. The hotel has been recently renovated and the whole place is clean and modern. The staff are very friendly and one guy speaks good English. The hotel is really close to Tawaramachi station and it's a short walk to the Asakusa shopping district. The only issue I had was that the drying machine in the laundry took two cycles to dry my clothes. I would definitely stay here again and suggest it to anyone.

I had 10 day accommodation in Agora Place Asakusa Hotel in the end of November and in the beginning of December 2012. I made my room reservation via Hotels.com web site and got very good offer for room price.

The hotel is located in Asakusa district. Many places, f.ex. Tokyo Skytree, Kappabashi dori (kitchenware street), Ueno park , Ueno station, Asakusa temple and shrine are within quite short walking distance. And if you like to go further, metro station (Ginza line) is behind the corner, only few minutes away from hotel.

Asakusa district is really nice and peaceful area to walk around during the day and night time. Area is actually quiet during the night time. Lots of small nice shops, restaurants, small houses, narrow streets - I really liked Asakusa district.

And the hotel was excellent. My room was quite small but very nice and clean. It included all basic facilities: flat tv, kettle, mini fridge, safety box, desk and chair, wide bed, wireless internet, air condition and small bathroom. Bed was very comfortable for rest. Room cleaning were precise, towels and linen were changed every day (also the toothbrushes).

Few small minus things: there was not any wardrobe to keep your clothes. And wireless internet was not working very well in the room. My room was little bit cold and my view from the window was not nice (only thing you saw from the window was the opposite wall). But it didn’t bothered me, because most of the time I spent my time somewhere else than in my hotel room. TV channels were only in Japanese.

The hotel is new and just been open for a short time. Hotel lobby area is very nice. On third floor there are easy to use laundry machine (for washing and drying). Elevators are working quickly. I didn’t have any breakfast but there are a small restaurant on 1st floor from where you can buy breakfast or other meals. Also, there are lots of other restaurants in the neighbourhood.

This journey was my first visit in Japan, but not the last one. I really enjoyed my stay there.

And I recommend this hotel to everyone!

I stay for 5 nights on 6-11 December 2012. Location is very close to subway walk around 1-2 min. From exit 3. Room a bit small but it's ok for Tokyo. This hotel very clean, quiet, free wifi. Location near asakusa and kappa bashi(chef street).

Stayed at this hotel for two nights (26 to 28 November 2012). Location and design wise - the hotel was a great choice. It was very clean, new, very modern, offered free wifi in all the rooms and is located right next to a train station along the GINZA line and also two stops away from the famous Ueno Market. There were lots of restaurants nearby, a pretty decent shopping mall called Rox with 4 levels of shopping, a fitness centre on the top floor and a Seibu dept store at the basement. Really happy with the location.

The only disappointment were the tiny rooms especially for a room type called the Semi-Double which they say is for 2 persons. It really is a tight squeeze for 2 and is more a room for one person with a double bed that is not even Queen size.

We looked at the pics online and booked that room type whilst travelling with our 7 year old thinking that we could add a rollaway if needed or have her sleep between us as she is still fairly small. The booking went through even though we indicated that we were travelling in a party of 3. We were pretty surprised when we checked in that the room was extremely small and there was hardly any space for the luggage to lay flat and be opened. We literally had to step over the bags and squeeze in between the wall and the bed to get to the toilet. No way a rollaway could fit in this room type.

We went down to ask for an upgrade as we had initially paid JPY12000 for 2 nights for this room type (booked on www.booking.com). We were told that an upgrade to two larger twin beds was an extra JPY10000 for two nights and an extra JPY20000 if we wanted a triple room. This was up and above the initial JPY12,000 already paid up. So JPY22,000 for a twin and JPY32000 for a triple! A huge difference.

We gave our feedback at the registration that we would not have booked this room type had we known and also that their pictures on website were not a good indication of the actual room size. They were accommodating and I must say, professional and did not fuss. Instead they were kind enough to let us have a room with a semi double and a single bed for another JPY6000 to sort out the misunderstanding in room types. So we took it and ended up having a good 2-day stay there! Pics of my 'upgraded' room for 3 attached.

Just for you to note if you are booking this hotel that they have a policy here called "STYLE YOUR STAY" - almost like a no frills hotel so they supply you basics for your stay but if you want extras like the free coffee and tea in the room, bottled water, extra pillows or blankets, bathrobe and extra towels (other than whats been supplied) you can rent it in the lobby. First time I have seen something like this but then again, this is Japan - unusual in all aspects!

Room Tip: Make sure you do not choose a room based on the pictures at this hotel. Better to write to them and...

Good hotel with a great location, only 5 min walk from Tawaramachi station exit 2. This area is a bit out of the town, quite quiet during night time. But there is a Family Mart and 7/11 nearby the hotel. The room is small but well equipped, is great for couple.

Well the photos are all very positive and show the best of the hotel's recent refurbishment. However entering the room (which wasn't the smallest we had in Tokyo) it was rather sparse. Items which we had been provided with in a similar priced hotel were optional extras, more pillows, ionizer (they love them in Japan), tea bags, hairdryer etc were all added extras to pay for at the reception. Hotel was however reasonably priced for the two of us for two nights. Our room had a limited freshen up (new wallpaper), but the shower/bathroom was tired - we must have had one that wasn't updated. The staff were friendly enough and did let us leave the bags after checkout for a few hours. There's a good amount to do in the area and the hotel is almost on top of a subway station (Tawaramachi).

Room Tip: We chose a double room, and think that was OK for us two and our bags; we were on floor 3 if that he...
