Very touristy, but great fun. The surrounding streets are really interesting too, not just the row of stalls on the lead up to the Temple. The rickshaw is expensive, 3000 yen for barely 15 minutes, but it's good fun and the guide spoke English giving us some interesting info along the way.

The temple is beautiful and its interesting to visit and to observe. Peaceful and very coloured, traditions and Japanese flavour. Surroundings are pretty touristic for my taste. A small bazar before entering the temple itself selling souvenirs, pricey of course.

Easy to get to by train and fun to walk around day or night. Lots of sights, shopping and reasonable restaurants in this area.

Brilliant area, still very neighbourhood like, with good restaurants and very atmospheric at night, especially around the shrine area.
