Decided to go here for the day, had a wonderful time. There is 2 buildings here, the old building mainly has Japanese exhibits and the newer building has science exhibits from across the world. We loved the hands on science in the new building and spent a great deal of our time there. Would visit again.

Great exhibits and many of them were in English. I only say this becaus ewe visited another museum, The museum of Graphic design?, and nothing was in english but you could understand the message in the ads and photos.

This museum was filled with lots of cool things and exhibits.

I went here solo in January 2012 as a 30 year old male, and even though many of the previous reviewers say it's ideal for children, the small child inside every man will definitely enjoy this venue.

When you enter be sure to grab a map of the layout of the museum, you will get lost with out it. Its has 5 levels of exhibits, in 2 buildings, it's a little bit confusing, but you'll get the hang of it in no time. English audio books were available for rent, but I choose not to use it (even though I have used them in other places and found them to be extremely useful)

Exhibits about the natural fauna and flora of Japan is quite extensive, I'm sure there must even be a few extinct species in there, this one unusual animal caught my eye, it had the head of a rabbit and a body of a cat! You'll find all types of unusual stuff like that here.

Other favorite exhibits of mine were the advancements of Japanese technology, even a Play Station 2 gets in the show! A great example of a Japanese Zero is also displayed in this area, and how of course could I forget the dinosaur exhibit, absolutely amazing.

A great way to spend 3 hours, before or after you've visited the National Museum, across the road.

This was an inexpensive museum (600 Yen per adult) and the displays were fantastic. Better than any museum I have been to in Australia.
