“green oasis to recover from busy tokyo”

nice and generously arranged park with a lot of gingko trees and a cherry tree tree alley which must be stunning during the cherry blossom time (I was only there in October/November). in ueno park you can find all sorts of tokyoties from punks to business men, from school kids to old ladies painting with water colors, young and old families, ladies in kimonos...
a bit hidden you can find the "flame of Hiroshima". a big American coffee franchise has its restaurant in the middle of the park, zoo (not visited) is also located within the park and some museums. worth a visit any time!

“Great experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 12, 2013

The park is rather big, but not huge. It's pretty cozy, but I wouldn't spend a whole day there. On some of the benches, people were sleeping, but it didn't bother me. People were walking their dogs there and it seemed to be a pretty chill place where normal Japanese people would go to hang out. Inside the park is also Ueno Zoo which was nice!

“Lovely!”

I loved this park!! I travelled solo to Japan and I just loved to just sit down by the water fountain in Ueno Park and enjoy the cool autumn weather.

Nothing over-the-top here but this makes it even more perfect.

Worth dropping by if you're in Taito!

“Nice park”

It was ok to walk around after visiting National museum. I can't say it's a must, but if you have time and the weather is good, then why not.

This place is huge! We didn't get to explore all parts of the park. But it's definitely worth it if you visit here. Very beautiful park indeed!
