this a great stop after all the skyscrapers. located here is the biggest lantern in japan (its titanic!!!). it was packed with a lot of people. one of the highlights are men in their traditional-sports outfit who carries ricksaw and at the same time work as tour guides. the nakamisa-döri is also located here. its pedestrian street shops were very colorful. there were a lot of expensive tourists' wares. the sensoji temple is just right after this street. its full of gold and lots of japanese peeps offering prayers. on the left side is the dempoin abtresidence. its garden was small but well-manicured. these sites are all free of charge.

Everyone should visit this place when you visit Tokyo. Take a picure at beautiful red lantern at Kaminarimon. You can shop for souvenir at Nakamise. So many cute and cool stuff there to shop and see. Sensouji(temple) is very beautiful and neat. Make sure to check some statues by the temple. Very old and nice. You can visit this place first and go to Tokyo Sky Tree. They are close.

This is what you expect to see in Japan: beautiful traditional architecture in bold colors. And this place does not disappoint. Having said that I found the place a bit too crowded for a tranquil temple to enjoy it as much as the Meiji Shrine. Still, I'd recommend a visit, even if it is just to buy presents for the people at home in one of the many little shops surround the place.

Definitely see the Sensoji temple at Asakusa. It's very pretty and surrounded by a very nice gift shopping area where you can buy almost any Japanese gift you may have been looking for. We got the Metro to Asakusa then the 'Water-bus' to cruise down the river to Hama Rikyu gardens - this is a great experience and the Gardens are well worth a visit.

The whole area of Asakusa is just lovely. Worth bothering the gods and saying a prayer. But even without this enactment, it has a calm and consistent energy.
