“Small shrine”
Reviewed March 13, 2013

The Asakusa Shrine is one of the buildings on the Sensoji-temple area. Walk up the Nakamise street, Asakusa Shrine is on the right side of Senso-ji. It has a stone gate.

Fantastic place to visit, not only for the shrine but for all the atmosphere and things to do in the surrounding area, including many shops and restaurants.
Great day out

“Like a theme park!”
Reviewed March 1, 2013

OK, we went to Tokyo Disney and Odaiba. But for old Edo feel, Asakusa does it best. The shrine pulls in worshippers from all over the world. There is also a 'shake shake' area where you shake a cylindrical metal can until a bamboo stick falls out, whilst you pray. With the number you go and get your fortune on a piece of paper in a drawer. 100yen and great fun, even if you don't believe in it.

“Beautiful”

Quite large shrine given that its in the middle of a popular neighborhood. There are lots of shrines in the area, but this is by far the nicest. Lots of different buildings and statues

This is where you get your souvenirs plus see the shrines. Lots of shops along the street leading up to the shrine!
