Me and my friend stayed at the Super Hotel Asakusa from 14 Dec to 16 Dec and i would say the hotel is really great when it comes to service. We arrived at around 2pm plus. The hotel is a bit of a distance from the nearby subway station (Asakusa Station) around 5 to 8 mins walk so be prepared to walk for a bit. When we came we were greeted by a friendly female staff at the front desk. She speaks quite fluent english and the check in process was rather smooth. One of the interesting things abt this hotel is that we get to pick our own pillows which have different colours depending on what you want. But i guess this isnt a really big plus point. The hotel room like most other reviews have mentioned is quite small but personally, i think it is good enough for two not so big sized persons. Me and my friend had difficulty walking around the room but to us it was fine since we are not in the room most of the time. The toilet i would say is a good size. theres just enough space for the toilet bowl, sink and bath tub and a place for you to stand and change your clothes. Like i said earlier, if youre big size, then i guess it may pose a slight problem. Theres no free wi fi in the room though so if you want to get wifi you have to go to breakfast area near the front desk to get wi fi. There is a lan cable in the room for you to connect to the internet using your laptop. There is also a port where you can charge your iphone/ samsung phones which was really convenient if you want to charge your phone. a travel adaptor was also provided. They had all the other basic amenities such as toiletries, towels, toothbrush etc so that was good. The breakfast buffet comes free and i would say for the price is was really good. They had a variety of pastries such as croissants, some breads. There is scrambled eggs and also miso soup and rice ball. I saw the variety they provided was good. Staff was also courteous informing us each time when they were going to refill some items. Or when breakfast service is ending they will also tell us. Drinks were provided free from the automated machine during breakfast hours and there were also a variety of stuff like soft drinks to coffee and hot chocolate or ice tea. So i guess thats great too. The hotel has a policy that from 10 to 3pm you shouldnt be in your rooms as they will be cleaning them so i guess thata a bit of the negative point but it didnt affect us because we will be out during that time sightseeing anyways. However, you can request from the front desk that you dont want your room to be cleaned and they will not disturb your room during that time and i guess you can stay in your room if you informed front desk earlier. The sensoji temple is like a min walk from the hotel (its acutally right behind the hotel) so thats the great thing. Its also near the cruise station on the sumidawa river so thats another plus point. There are various eateries at the asakusa temple areas so you dont have to worry abt not having stalls nearby. A convenience store is also located nearby the hotel There is one open 24hrs if im not wrong.
The service we received from the hotel staff were superb. We had to go to hakone the next day and was staying there for one night so we didnt want to carry our bulky luggage all the way there so they allowed us to store our luggage there overnight so it was a good thing! When we came back to collect our luggage we had to find the way to our haneda hotel (we had an early flight the next day) The male staff at the front desk was so helpful providing us directions with the trains. Telling us about the express train to haneda and when was the next one coming. So i guess this extra mile they go for their service which is amazing! Definitely coming back to this hotel if i were to coem back to tokyo again!
