As the other reviews state, small but well equipped and convenient to the Tokyo Metro (few doors to the left for underground entrance), JR lines (across pedestrian overpass - elevators on both sides) and Keisei Skyliner (10min walk - we kept getting lost and ended up following signs from the metro). We stayed here for 4 nights just before leaving Japan. From the JR line, we had to go up and over the overpass - you can see the vertical signboard on your far left from the top of the overpass. Plenty of restaurants, shops and a couple of convenience stores handy.
We didn't eat here, tried out the cafe next door (even ventured to try the "strawberry cream coffee" - interesting...) and Starbucks in the JR station.
The hairdryer is better than the average hotel dryer, and the straightening tongs are a nice touch in the lady's corner of the countertop. I didn't use the facial steamer (which hubby thought was a kettle on the first day LOL). The actual kettle is great, but he discovered that the trouser press is not good for drying socks, drenched after a Tokyo spring shower.
Room was spotless, shower pressure great. No iron/board in room, it wouldn't fit in a room that size! The bed was not supersoft, but after the rock-hard beds we had experienced around Japan, it was sheer bliss for my aching back and shoulders.
Staff were quite friendly and polite. The 'luggage storage' is a thick net draped over your luggage near the lift. We called it the "safety net" LOL
Overally, would def stay here again, even though it was crowded for hubby and I in a double room with queen size bed (we had to take turns packing suitcases so we didn't get in each other's way).

Room Tip: We had a great view of..the backstreets of Ueno :( But it was very quiet and the blockout shade and...

I'm always impressed with how well the Japanese can equipped a room in spite of its small size. They fit toiletries, yukatas, slippers, safe, fridge, pants press, humidifier, kettle with tea / coffee, hair dryer and curling iron, even a facial spa all into ths really compact room. The bed and pillows are comfortable.

The location is SO GREAT! Close to the train station, Ameyo Yokocho arcade, Ueno park (with Zoo, Museum of Art, etc.) all close by and there is even a convenience store right across the street if you have to nip out for a midnight snack when you're still dealing with jet lag. I love this neighborhood and the price is really good value for money.

They provided everything we needed in the room; toothbrush, tooth paste, razor, soap, shampoo, bottled water, night shirts, hair dryer, and straightner. Located within walking distance from the train station. Awesome location for touring, restaurant has breakfast every morning good selection. Everyone was very polite and helpful. Great place!

The hotel is opposite to JR Ueno Station. Can go to hotel from station throught the footbridge in 5 minutes. Luckily, I rented car from Toyota-rent-a car. When I returned the car and found the Toyota-rent-a car office just 50 meters away from hotel. Very convenient.

The hotel is new and clean. I stayed a semi double room which size is OK in Japan. Great surprised that the room with Pansonic electric hair clip, hair dryer and humidifier.

The staffs are helpful and nice. But only one Italian restaurant in hotel.

As already mentioned in previous commments:
--> very good location: close to station and park
--> good starting point for exploring the Tokyo
--> comfortable room, good place to wrap your business day
--> very nice and big bathrooms (for Japanese Hotels ;))
--> fluent english speaking front desk
--> hotel will keep luggage, if you will be out of the hotel for a few days

The only negative point is may be that the breakfast is not included and if you just want quickly eat something it is a little bit expensive 1.300JPY. However, if you have some time to enjoy breakfast, you will get a wonderful japanese style breakfast with a lot of different things to discover.

VERY GOOD +++ rating!!!

I would book it agains, also for private trips!

This hotel is very new and modern, and the room was good size, ie enough room to park your bags without falling over one another. We were very comfortable there. Tip: leave the blackout shade a tad open otherwise you might not wake up until very late, they are very good! And we found Ueno a very good base to explore Tokyo, Ueno station is just over the pedestrian bridge, it's right on the Ginza, Hibiya and Yamanote lines which gives you so many options in terms of getting around. There are lots of eating options in the area, but one night we couldn't be bothered going very far and just had dinner in the Italian downstairs, very pleasant indeed. We did not think the breakfast deal was great value so we usually had breakfast (and a couple of dinners as well!) in the station itself, there are so many nice places to choose from. Ueno station is like is like a small town in itself, do the groceries, buy a bottle of wine, buy gifts for the family, have a nice meal etc. Staff are very friendly and will loan you an umbrella if it's inclement outside. And like all Japanese hotels, just hook up your PC/netbook (for free, a nice change for those of us who normally have to pay for it!)

So handy for Ueno station and Ueno Park with all it's wonderful museums, galleries, temples and the zoo. Minutes from the wonderful Ameyoko Market and the most divine sushi (although travellers will find food is of a very high standard everywhere in Japan). If you have luggage, from Ueno station, take the Panda Bridge Exit at the Iriya Gate to get to the hotel on the walkways avoiding the roads. Ask for a room at the back away from the big road as it will be quieter. The black out blinds in this hotel are amazing and filled me with envy! We had no problem accessing wifi. Out room was spotless and comfortable. I find the reviews saying the rooms are 'small' a bit funny, hey people this is Tokyo! The rooms are a perfectly adequate size and we found the staff to be helpful and friendly. Breakfast here was a bit hit and miss and not as good as the Mitsui Garden Hotel in Ginza, and if it hadn't been included in our package we would have given it a miss and gone to the coffee shop next door.
