I stayed 2 days at the beginning of March.
The hotel is very close to the station of Ueno, very convenient when arriving from Narita airport (express train). The day of my arrival it was raining heavily, I got drenched. At the front desk the staff were professional but very, very unsociable, not at all empathetic.
The room was very small, but very clean and warm. Bathroom was also small but with all kind of comfort, and the toilet is most advanced with the bidet incorporated.
I had dinner at the Italian restaurant of the hotel. It wasn’t cheap but quality was good.
The location was good also for its proximity to the station and subway, allowing me to reach easily all Tokyo attractions.

The hotel was very close to Ueno station. There is also a breakfast buffet for 1300 yen on the first floor. They did not have many selctions though and the food was a bit cold. I would not recommend it if you expect it like Vegas styled breakfast buffets.. It was a little disappointing. I loved the air purifier and the face steamer as room amenities. The room was clean but the brown cushions on the bed was a bit smelly. Other than that, it was good to stay at this hotel.

We stayed here 3 nights in mid-November for our vacation in Tokyo. The hotel is good for its price level and the location is great: across the street from Ueno Station, several subway stations nearby, not far from Asakusa. We ended up taking taxis a lot but it was by choice, there were plenty of mass transit options and it would be feasible to walk to Asakusa. The room was extremely small, but we expected that. Front desk staff was very helpful. Hotel is very clean and modern. We especially appreciated the free wifi!

Nice hotel! Good service.
In your room you have (free of charge):
Bathtub in a nice bathroom, big flatscreen TV, a fridge, free airconditioner/heater, Ice bucket, teacups with a water kettle and tea, a sturdy safe, a really comfortable bed and free internet (about 1MBps real speed)

The location is really great, just a 3-5 minute walk from Ueno subway station. (Someone before said that this hotel is "really not in Tokyo", that's not true Tokyo is just big, not everything is around Tokyo central station. Ueno is one if the busier stations in Tokyo. So I would say quite central)
You have both the Ginza line, Hibiya line, Yamanote line and the Airport train stopping here. Does not get any better than that.
The closest subway exit is literally 30 meters from the hotel exit (check google street view, go left when you exit the hotel)

That is all I really want from a hotel, if it had had a pool, a sauna and a gym it would deserve 6 stars =)

Breakfast is good too btw! Very Japanese/Contenental mixed in a bit of a weird way but hey :)

Room Tip: Try to get one a fair bit up in the hotel to get away from the street/car noise. It's got like 1...

I found this to be a great location - within a couple of blocks of Ueno station (Narita Skyliner stops here) and less than a mile from Asakusa. This is a typical little Tokyo room hotel but very clean and well appointed. I think we startled the staff in that we were the only gaijin staying there but we found everyone polite and accomodating. I would definitely stay again - no outside noise heard though we were on a main street, comfortable beds, and lots of breakfast/coffee places to choose in the morning. There is a restaurant in the hotel but it was Italian and, well, we were in Japan not Italy.

We stayed here for 2 nights in Tokyo during a stopover from New Zealand back to the UK. It was a good choice of hotel for this purpose, very convenient for visiting a few places in a short space of time because Ueno subway station is right next door. We found it initially a bit difficult to get to on arrival from the Airport, because whilst the subway station is right next door, the mainline Ueno station is at least 10 - 20 minutes walk away - this is because it'll take a while to navigate your way across all the highways which cross in between and finding your way with your luggage across these multiple walkways through the elevators and lifts can be a bit confusing. It's ok once you get the hang of it, but figure at least 20 mins to get from the mainline station to the hotel the first time round! The quickest and easiest, but not the cheapest way from Narita airport to the hotel/Ueno mainline is by the Kesei Skyliner, which got us there in about 45 mins.

The double room wasn't large and the double bed was pushed against the wall, but probably a better size than most in Tokyo. The room was however spotless, the bed extremely comfortable and room well sound-proofed from road noise. Nicely styled too. Found the hotel a great base to explore Ueno Park, Asakusa temple and the Imperial Palace (although not much to see at the Palace unfortunately...). Ueno Park is fantastic, well worth spending some time there.

A point to note about changing money if you're from the UK - they don't change £ at reception, only $ or Euros, so if you arrive at the weekend and there's no banks open, you'll have to use the money exchange in the mainline station, where you won't get the best rate.

The area is safe and the Japanese people are so friendly and polite, we will definitely love to come back for longer next time!
