“good place to crash”
Reviewed October 24, 2013

Spent 3 nights at Anne Hostel. Location is very convenient, with short walking distance to Asakusa district and very good train connection to Shinjuku.
Big plus for this hostel are unlimited toast and eggs breakfasts.

Room Tip: go for japanese style room, they are quite comfy

This place is a very good option for travellers in Tokyo with a very pleasant staff with very good English who are always ready to help. Close to Asakusa metro station too. Breakfast consists of toasts, eggs and coffee, so rather limited but it works. A bit far away from Rappongi and Shibuya, if you want to go out a lot at night but still a quite alright location.

ok, that might be a japanese thing, but the cleaningness of the hostel is really outstanding. the staff is very friendly aswell and made me enjoy my stay.
i stayed in both private and female shared rooms. the location is good, with lots of bars nearby.

Room Tip: its a hostel, but the private rooms are not much more expensive, so really worths the deal.

If you're backpacking and looking for a place to crash for a few nights in Tokyo, this is a good choice. The location isn't perfect but is only a walk away from two completely opposite places in Tokyo. The Asakusabashi JR station is about a 5 minute walk away too so is great for people with a JR pass. To walk to Akihabara it takes about an extra 10 minutes from the station (or a 2 minute train ride) and the walk to Asakusa from the hostel takes about 25 minutes. With there being a station nearby, although it isn't in the busiest place in Tokyo, you can easily get to the places that you want to go to.

With that being said, other than that, you get what you pay for. This is a backpackers hostel with bunk beds (not the comfiest ever but fine to crash on after a day on your feet). The reception is on the top floor, but there is a lift so don't worry too much about carrying your bags up. Up there, there is also a kitchen and a communal room with a TV and hot drinks. The hostel also offers a breakfast of toast and eggs or toast and jam.

The thing that really sells this place, however, are the really friendly staff. They are willing to help in any way possible and are great to talk to. All of them have or are studying English. If they don't know the answer to your question, they will find out of you. More than likely, however, they will know.

It's not your 5 star hotel but it's great for somewhere to crash.

Anne Hostel is located in Asakusabashi, a peaceful location that allows you to explore the city of Tokyo with ease. The hostel is easy to find (they provide excellent directions) and is a 5 minute walk from both the JR station and metro. The hostel is very clean and the staff are very attentive towards all of your needs. I stayed in a 12 person mixed dorm room and found the beds to be comfy and the room to be of an adequate size. Each floor has its own bathroom and wash areas so there is no need to wait around for other people to finish (I believe there are women only shower areas as well on each floor). Free breakfast (toast, egg, tea) are provided each morning in the common room area. This common room is great for meeting people but it does close at 12 each night (guests are staying on that floor). No late nights at the hostel therefore!. Not to worry though, Tokyo has so many places to visit at night that it cannot really be considered a downside.

I stayed in this hostel for several nights and I was more than please in all aspects. It is cheap, it is really well connected via public transport, also from and to both airports, it is really very clean, and the staff are very very friendly.

I can't find a bad aspect for this hostel.

Very nice hostel to stay in. Staff were very helpful. Very easy to get to and from both airports. The staff will help you with any questions you had. Hostel is in a quiet location, but near many stores, restaurants, etc. Free breakfast is a great way to start your day. They offer free tea/coffee throughout the day also. Free wifi, and computers are a plus. Would stay here again!
