If you want a lovely no frills comfortable stay and want to take advantage of your JR pass than look no further. Asusakabashi is a quaint town with everything you need and one stop shy of Akihabara. The staff of the hotel are sweet and very helpful all you need to so is ask! However everything is self explanatory and they clean your bed everyday with fresh towels provided. We loved it very much!!! Don't expect a super ritzy stay and be prepared to be self sufficient.
Perfect for young adventurous couples!

We stayed at the Hotel Yanagibasi for 1 week. It was comfortable and pleasure to stay for us. The staff are all friendly and very kind. They speak in English and they have some usefull English information at the reception. I'm a Japanese but not from Tokyo so they help me a lot how to move around. The room is small as people indicate but very clean and in the room there are everything you need. With this bugget there are no complain. The location it's enough close and easy to reach everywhere. 2 minutes to closest JR line and metro station. Also from the Narita Airport there is a direct train to the Asakusabashi station. We didn't go around much the area near the hotel, but it seems very interesting to see as well. Avairable WiFi and internet in the computer room. We enjoyed a lot staying in Tokyo, I would stay again at this hotel.

We stayed here for 3 nights upon arrival at Tokyo and before setting off to Kyoto. The hotel is conveniently located near the JR Asakusabashi Station. For those of you who are interested, this area is apparently famous for its large doll stores. We brought a couple of dolls from a store named Kyugetsu which was just a 5 mins walk from the hotel and the workmanship was impeccable.

The hotel room is very small and compact but it was clean and tidy and it will serve your needs well if you just need a place to sleep for the night. The wifi in the room is weak but they have a computer room at the lobby which you can use for free. Bicycle rental is also available and this area is generally safe for cycling since it is more like a quiet town area.

Stayed here from 28th December 2012 to January 7th and we couldn't couldn't of picked a better hotel. The location is perfect for a stay in Tokyo, literally 2 minutes away from the Asakusabashi Station. Small restaurants within a minute walk, a Lawson (mini supermarket) around the corner. The staff were always helpful if we had any questions and gave us advice when planning trips out of the Tokyo.

Sachiko and Tomoko are lovely owners, I strongly recommend this hotel whether your a Tokyo regular or newbie.

Great experience at this hotel! The room was very small, not something I'm used to being an American! But it was clean and served our needs. The staff was extremely hospitable. In a city that has countless huge chain hotels, I liked staying at a smaller hotel where the staff called me by name. The area was perfect. A 2 minute walk from the subway and train stations but located in a quieter part of town where it was easy to rest after a busy day of sightseeing. Will definitely be staying here again!

We stayed at the Hotel Yanagibashi for two night whilst touring the Kanto area of Japan for a week. We found the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Thery spoke average English, enough to get by. The lady who owns it directed us to our room. Two small single beds, a tiny bathroom with shower and toilet and a small rail for hanging clothes. Overall the room was tiny and very cramped. However, this is typical of Tokyo so was expected. We encountered no problems at all during our stay, be aware the front desk shuts at 1am though! Despite waking them up at 4am in a drunken state to collect our room key, The owners were still completely happy and helpful. Within 5 minutes walk of Asakusabashi metro station, excellent links to the whole of the city. Would definately reccomend to those with a short stay in Tokyo.

Away from the high traffic area but very close to train and subway transportation, provided mini refrigerator, hair dryer, umbrellas if needed, full bathroom, and they do have laundry machines on site for a fee, convinience store one block and other restaurants At night I would look forward to returning to my little quiet safe haven away from the crowds. Staff and owners like family, rooms small and clean, good budget price and would not hesitate to return there. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
