We stayed as a family of four. The reception isnt the flashiest around and resembles a working office. When we asked for help the staff were very helpful and friendly.
The rooms were very clean and tidy and everything was replaced daily.
We would certainly stay there again.

The best thing about this hotel is its location. Although it is about a 8 minute walk to the metro it is near lots of wonderful restaurants. We had some wonderful meals in this area long with the locals and it certainly wasnt expensive. The only thing i would say is the room was tiny and the breakfast is dreadful, very limited and the choices dont look or taste great either. If you have a large suitcase be prepared for this to be stored by the door as there is no room in the actually room for 2 big cases. The hotel is very clean and the staff on reception do make an effort to help you. the hotel provides a good map and metro map. My bed wasnt the best and i did wake up each morning with back ache. We walked frm the main station when we arrived but i would probably suggest getting a cab when you first arrive after a long flight from the UK.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in late June. The hotel is a < 5 minutes walk to the nearest metro station, about 8 minutes walk to a 24-hour supermarket and 10-15 minutes walk to central Ueno where you can find everything. We booked a non-smoking twin room. The room is considered reasonably sized in Japanese standard, and is quiet and neat. Breakfast is simple but OK. Overall a pleasant stay.

We got a booking made by mistake in the smoking rooms area. Although we were travelling with a child it wasn't possible for the staff to move us on another floor and they so 'disinfected'the room. The smell of smoke was unbearable and it was difficult to breath with the windows opened all the time. Hotel position is ok so are prices and the rooms small although this is normal for the Japanese standard. Probably I wouldn't have found it as horrible as I did being in a non smoking area but overall I wouldn't recommend it and definetly never go back

I actually really enjoyed not only the location of this hotel but its friendly staff. since my Japanese if very basic I asked a front desk clerk to help me book a restaurant and he did which helped me out a lot. They have pretty yummy breakfasts and they have it on a 4 time rotation.

I stayed here for two weeks on a business trip - my wife also stayed with me.

The room was very small by American standards, but it gets the job done. Chances are you won't be visiting Japan to stay in the room all day long.

The rooms were perfectly clean, and well stocked with toiletries - very large amounts of body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. There is internet provided, but only via wired connection. There is free wifi in the lobby, the login details for which are changed every 3 days (just ask the front desk).

Most of the employees at the front desk speak passable English, but it varies from person to person. Japanese hotels will expect you to pay for the entire trip up front, so be prepared for that as this is not very common in the US. Japanese hotels also book based on occupancy, but my hotel was booked through work and I simply paid for my reservation and was not bothered about having an extra person at all - use your judgment and conscience with regard to this.

There is free breakfast every morning that usually includes salad, a kind of meat, soup, sometimes eggs (either scrambled or hard boiled), pastries, and of course coffee/tea. It's not going to win any awards but it is fairly good quality and very nice if you're looking to save money.

The hotel is very close (less than a 10 minute walk) to 2 different Metro stops, and about a 15 minute walk to Ueno station, which is a major hub in the Tokyo area. Ueno Park is also directly adjacent to the station, which is very nice and has a lot of different things to do. There are also many, many restaurants and shops within 1 or 2 miles - we easily could have eaten at a different place for every night of our stay.

Overall this is a clean, conveniently located, and very affordable. You would have a hard time finding a hotel for this price with all those characteristics in a big city anywhere in the US. But bear in mind this is not trying to be an upscale hotel - it is an efficient place to sleep and bathe every night after your days in Tokyo.

The room is fine. But we stayed here for 5 nights and the last night they made us switch to another room which was a smoking room. (We booked two separate reservations). The window couldn't open and the room smelled awful. I told the hotel staff and they shrugged their shoulders. I've heard the Japanese are supposed to be great hosts and this was embarrassing. I have allergies (which I told them) and my next day was ruined.
