A friend of ours booked a table for lunch in this Japanese restaurant, which is on the 59th floor of the Sunshine (building). The Sunshine is a 60-story building with shops and restaurants (and maybe some offices) about 10 minutes walk from JR Ikebukuro station on the east side.
From the underground (Level B1), there are some elevators, which will take you directly to the 58th and 59th floor in a very short time, with a speed of 600m/min maximum. (Speed displayed in the elevator). Some other elevators make more stops.
We were seated at a table in a separated space with a good view of the city. It is a pity that it was cloudy that day, but if the weather is fine, the view should be much better.
We took the cheapest lunch menu of 2000 yen, which includes free refills of rice, but the drinks are not included, except water and Japanese tea. The food was well presented and tasted good, and the service was also very correct. The portion was rather small, but maybe enough for Japanese standards. (not for US standards) Globally, as it is located on the 59th floor with a good view of the city and that we had a table in a separated space, we think this restaurant offers a rather good value for money.
