I’ve been staying at the Kimi since the 1970’s and stayed 14 nights on this occasion. I find it’s perfectly located in Ikebukuro, in a quiet area about an 8 minute walk from the west exit of the station. Actually you can walk left before ascending the escalator and come up just after the “Soup” restaurant.
Ikebukuro is not that far from other main centres by train (Takadanobaba, Harajuku, Shinjuku, Shibuya one was and Nippori, Ueno, Akihabara, Tokyo the other way.
There are two big Department Stores, Sunshine City, Tokyo Hands and plenty of food places.
The Kimi is always well kept, quiet, very reasonably priced with shower bays and toilets close to the rooms. There is a vending machine, refrigerator, kitchen, TV in the common area. Washing machines and dryers are outside on the 3rd floor.
WiFi is available throughout the building.
A lift and stairs take you to the upper floors.
