Hi, I stayed here with my friend while in Tokyo for 2 nights in late 2009. It was only $79 total for the room per night, including a western breakfast in the morning.
The rooms are very small and like every place I stayed in Japan, the pillows leave a lot to be desired! but I was extremely impressed with how clean the owner kept the place - especially the bathroom facilities. There was only 1 toilet and 2 showers for the House but they were spotless and shampoo, conditioner, body wash, tooth brushes and toothpaste were all supplied.
The breakfast was simple but good - bread with jam etc. There is also free internet in the breakfast room.
The location in Tokyo was good. The House is about a 5 min walk from the nearest train station (Ikebukuro station from memory). The tunnel from the train station goes quite a way towards the House. The location is also convenient to get to Hirajuku Lane etc by train.
You are not supposed to come home to the House after 12am or 1am, however on one night my friend and I were late (about 2am I believe) and the owner let us in without any complaint. The other residents were all quiet and courteous - mostly young Japanese people.
Very simple accommodation but a really great price and therefore well worth it.More
