Gosh, the rooms are minuscule ! But if you're going to be out and about, of course then you only need a roof over your head. The room lacked spoons and cutlery and we had to get someone (the helpful but overworked receptionist) to bring up 2 little wooden spoon so we could eat some food with something. But otherwise, the rooms have free wifi, a television, a bed, a tiny little toilet/shower and barely enough room to walk to the door.
The hotel is literally above the Higashi Shinjuku metro station on the very handy Toei Oedo line, but note this hotel is not in Shinjuku itself. If you want to get to shinjuku, it is a walkable and Isetan Shinjuku is just down the road from the hotel. Shinjuku is only 1 stop away along the Toei line (Shinjuku Nishiguchi station) so don't make the highly unnecessary mistake many initially do - which is to take Toei train to Tochomae and then switching trains to get to Shinjuku.
Rooms are otherwise clean other than the frequent blare of ambulances (There is a major hospital in nearby Shinjuku) - it is a very convenient place to base yourself.More
