All of the trees and flowers are superb maintained, a right place to enjoy the silence and fresh air in the middle of Tokyo.
It could be better if there were information about the trees and flowers

A really beautiful garden. The garden is peaceful and quiet and you're able to take a break from the busy city. You're bound to take lots of photos so bring along your camera!

An oasis in the heart of the city, disappointed that the cherry blossom trees had bloomed too early this year. Well planned gardens. Loved the greenhouse.

Nice garden. Admission Fee 200 yen. Hours 9:00-16:00.
There are 3 gates to this garden, Shinjuku Gate, Okido Gate and Sendagaya Gate.
The most accessible should be Shinjuku Gate. 5 min walk from Shinjuku-Gyoenmae station (Exit 1) on the Marunouchi Line, or Shinjuku-Sanchrome station (Exit E5) on the Fukutoshin Line, or Shinjuku-Sanchrome station (Exit C1 or C5) on the Toei Shinjuku Line. 10 min walk from Shinjuku Station (South Exit)
You can ask for a English brochure at from the counter when you enter the garden. Tickets are bought from ticketing machines. There's basically 3 main gardens, English Landscape Garden, French Formal Garden and Japanese Traditional Garden. It will take some time to walk the garden. You can buy some food and drinks (no alcohol) into the gardens. If you feel tired after walking, you can just sit down and have a picnic on the grounds or the rest areas. The garden is really a relaxing place where people can be away from the hustle and bustle of the city. You can see families there having picnics, lying around and relaxing and just enjoying the day. It is really a place to take photos and just enjoying the views. Worth a visit.
