I found this unassuming restaurant tucked at a corner based on the feedback on trip advisor. To find this restaurant, upon exit from Odakyu HALC, turn right and walk down the street along the building, the restaurant is at the corner. You can see the signboard and the door is pretty old.
Step in, take a seat at the counter and enjoy the food being served. The starter set consists of tuna sashimi, eel and some veg. The chef waits for you to complete the sashimi before starting to prepare tempura so be sure you stop staring and start eating!
One by one, the chef cooks up tempura consisting of 2 prawns, 2 fish, bone of eel, 2 heads of prawn, mushroom top with shrimp, baby trout, onion, fish and finally baby scallops. That completes the tempura set. Thereafter, we were served a rich broth of miso soup unlike any that I've tried and a small bowl of nice sushi rice plus green tea brewed from tea powder (it was wonderful green tea). Dessert was nice big purple grape and a smaller green grape, sweet and nice.
I would really recommend this nice restaurant though the price tag is pretty steep. This is a small restaurant staff by a mother and son team with another staff.
It's definitely worth patronizing the restaurant.
