Stumbled upon this place when walking to Shinjuku station. A lovely place to reflect away from the hustle and bustle of the Tokyo metropolis. Also some very nice street food to try (the stalls had only just finished setting up) when I visited.

If you are in Japan around the Tori no Ichi festivals (every 12 days in November-usually twice but sometimes three times depending on the way the weeks sit), make sure you visit this shrine. The street is lined with street food stalls and the shrine site itself is packed with food and souvenir stalls. Buy a rake for luck!

This beautiful Shrine is directly behind the Hotel we stayed at and is easily accessed. A lovely feeling upon entering, very warm and calming.

We visited when a festival was on and there were endless food stalls selling all manner of delicious food. Display of lanterns makes this a great place to be at night.
