“Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office (TMG)”
Reviewed October 8, 2013

The observation deck from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office (TMG) is spectacular, offering 360 degree views of Tokyo and its surrounds. The crowds are not as big as Tokyo Tower and the Sky Tree, and its free, so its a good alternative.

“View from 45 storeys”
Reviewed October 8, 2013

It's free for one thing which is good. The view was so-so, buildings and tall buildings.
The souvenirs sold up there were very expensive, most tourists only view the items. None bought. If they could lower the prices perhaps they would bring back an item or two to their own countries to promote Japan Tourism

“Nice panoramic views and what a bargain”
Reviewed September 30, 2013

If you find yourself having some time and a clear day in Tokyo, make sure to make it to the TMG for great views of the city, and even of Mt Fuji from this strategic location. Both buildings have an observation deck on a high floor (don't remember how high) and the best thing is that going up there is free. What a bargain. Don't miss it. They have a cafe and a souvenir shop up there in case you needed something while visiting.

“Great free views of city”
Reviewed September 30, 2013

Went yesterday and the wait to get up was about 3 minutes. You enter building 1 which has the twin towers and can either go up the North or South side. There is a sign outside stating how long the wait time is for either side. It said 30 ,injures but only took us 3 minutes wait. Takes you to the 45th floor. Has English pictures pointed to locations you are viewing. There is a cafe restaurant which was a little pricey and also a gift shop. The wait time to go down was about 10 minutes. Currently there is only one elevator for either side open as they are updating them, so wait times may very until they are completed in November.

“Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office (TMG)_ beautiful view”
Reviewed September 26, 2013

The tallest building in Shinjuku, TMG No. 1 offers sweeping views of Tokyo-- On a clear day you can see Mt Fuji from the 45th floor observatory. Easy to get to and definitely worth a visit. South tower offers more views than the north tower, but you can comfortably do both within an hour and a half. The building has a few gift shops in each tower and a restaurant. The South Tower is open late. The city at night is worth a look.
