“Don't stay here.”
Reviewed November 30, 2013

This hotel is absolutely atrocious. The rooms were tiny and the ceilings were incredibly low. One of us is 5'10" and couldn't even fit in the shower.

The heating must have been broken because our room felt like a sauna and there was no way to open windows or have any air flowing through the room.

Don't even get me started on the pillows. I wasn't aware that marbles were a suitable filler for pillows, but at this hotel that seems to be the case. Tip: Bring your own.

The other guests in the hotel were loud - lots of running around screaming and slamming of doors all through the night (after 2am). Completely disrespectful.

It appeared as if 5/6 of the lifts were broken - it took us 3 attempts to get down as the one lift that was functional was full the first 2 times (and it was VERY slow).

The 8-min walk from Shinjuku Station is a lie.

Oh, and forget about unpacking - there's barely space to open your suitcase (and if you do... you probably will have to climb over it to use the bathroom).

I think this hotel was deserved to get the best hotel I ever booked. The place was not too far nor near with the Narita Int Airport. The hotel staff was very kind but not all of them could used english very well. What makes this hotel greater because there's minimarket at the lowest floor and we can go to walk around to see the beautiful-night view at Shinjuku city. This hotel also was a bit far from nearest train station. Anyway I used the hall for an event but the hall was a bit small for the event we did (compared with the booking price). If you wanna come to Shinjuku for backpacker or just travel, I don't recommend this hotel due to the high price. But if you have great event or meeting and so on, you may choose this hotel. Finally, due to the name of this hotel (US-Japan), I think it will be better if the hotel designed with the mix of Japan-US style. Arigatou!

I choose the smallest and the cheapest room in this hotel.

- Room are really small for 2 pax, its more for Asian built.
- Room are fully equipped with the daily necessities.
- Room are very clean and properly tidy up.
- Location are not really near to Shijuku, need to walk about 20 mins.
- Hotel is near to Keio mall, train station.
- If your budget allows, stay other hotels for better and convenient location.
- Takes about 1.5hrs to reach this hotel from narita airport via airport limo bus.
- If you have 2 big luaggages, you can only open 1 at a time due to space constraint. Not recommended for casaucians.
- I notice when japanese tell you from A to B, is 10 mins, pls add another 15 mins. Reason being, they walk really fast!

Given a choice, i will not stay in this hotel. The location is not exactly fantastic. I suggest pay abit more and get better locations.

The one night I stayed at the Washington Shinjuku was one of my worst recent hotel experience - mainly because the room was SO tiny, and it was SO hot, and impossible to adjust the temperature.
My friend and I booked a double room - the decor was ok, but the size was what the problem was - totally tiny - after the double bed and the small desk, there was hardly any space left. And the room was very hot, which brought on some claustrophobia in me.
The only good thing about the hotel was the value - the price was very reasonable - hence the tiny tiny room.
The location is not all that great either - on the western side of Shinjuku station , there are not that many shops or restaurants nearby - in my humble opinion, it is much better to stay at the eastern side of Shinjuku station.

Room Tip: if possible, book a bigger room than the standard room - the basic room is REALLY REALLY small

this is a nice hotel in shinjuku business district. About a 7 block walk from shinjuku train station. All and all a up to date hotel. My only complaints is the horrible bed with blankets with cigarettes burns. Price wasn't to bad. Room came with fridge, pajama gown and house shoes, No iron. I stayed 2 nights there received 2 breakfast pass. You have to use you room key to activate power in room pretty cool and efficient. Service was good and room and lobby has free wifi throughout building. I used japan wireless with portable wifi a must.

Room Tip: higher floors have a good view.

This is a 3 star hotel situated near the metropolitan government buildings. The convenient part is the coach from airport route can alight you at this hotel. However the hotel front office seems hidden on the third floor and not visible upon entering the building. The front office staff dosen't seem to smile or offer help. The room is rather small but clean. I feel the rooms needs some upgrading. It have a convenient store on the first floor level. and shopping is about 10 minutes walk. The Shinjuku metro station is 10 to 15 minutes walk and passable through underpass. This station can connect you to most part of Tokyo. This means no worries for bad weather. Price wise is fairly good when booked early. Overall, the stay was considerably acceptable.

Despite all the comments about rude service, all the staff I dealt with were polite and helpful. This included giving me a non smoking ladies only floor (level 14). The rooms are small (but expected and on par with the other Tokyo hotel). Clean and tidy with required facilities.eg hair dryer. Free wifi was a bonus and it worked well. For those who request English TV. I'm sorry, but I didn't even turn my tv on once in the time I was in Japan. I'm not here to be couped up inside watching some show or movie! I'm here to experience the culture and shopping. Tokyo metro govt building is right across the road. Free viewing of the city. Very nice though a skytree is better if you get the chance to see that. Check in is confusing as there's an annex and a main building and reception is on the 3rd floor but if you read the signs (English) it tells you this! Once again people complaining about poor English need to realise you're in Japan. They speak Japanese. So don't complain if you haven't bothered to learn some basics or attempt to help them out with communicating. I managed fine and speak no Japanese but the essentials (after downloading a few phone apps). Some people complained it is too far to walk with shopping. It's not. I do agree it is too far to carry an 18kg 5 year old though. Shopping bags would be fine. If not, research better and stay closer to the shopping centres you plan to visit. This hotel has shops, family Mart, heaps of restaurants, a place for weddings. My only complaint is the air con doesn't have temperature control. Only "low", "medium" or "high" which appears to be on heater in November. I was very hot inside. Pillows - one was memory foam- the other beans. I used the memory foam one and slept fine. Would I stay here again? Probably yes if I wanted to be in Shinjuku but I prefer the shibuya and harajuku areas for shopping so i would probably stay there again.
