““good location, clean, good value””
Reviewed December 3, 2013

The location of the hotel is very convenient to go every place and it is surrounded by up scaled office buildings. Fitness, Pool and Spa are excellent and clean. This hotel is one station away from Shinjuku (a major metropolitan hub in Tokyo). There are two smaller subway stops right next to the hotel, the hotel operates a free shuttle to Shinjuku, and there is an underground passageway from Shinjuku to Hotel. I stayed here with my family for 3 nights. All staff member took care of me very well. There are some expensive restaurant in the hotel but also it connects a convenient store at basement floor. However, WiFi is not free in the rooms, for which the charges are high.

Room Tip: Rooms at upper floors are quieter and have very good view

The excellence of the hotel service has already been said in previous reviews. My room was on the Regency Club level and it was very modern and updated, with a huge tub! I loved the black out curtains that blocked out all light - I didn't even know it was a perfect sunny day until I opened the window! The breakfast in the lounge area was good; though not a huge continental offering, it was more than enough to get to me satisfied, and had an awesome espresso machine. I do want to call out that I am a Hyatt Diamond member, so I got the breakfast / lounge access complimentary, and can't speak to the cost. The shuttle is very convenient to/from Shinjuku station, but being from New York, a 15 minute walk isn't bad at all. I did not check out any of the restaurants, the spa or gym as I was only there for the first day of my week in Japan, but it was a great 24 hours. I know the nicer, "mother of all" Hyatts is near by (which I did stay at and of course loved), but I think you get get so much more than what you pay for and would definitely look to have this as my hotel of choice when coming back to Tokyo.

Room Tip: If you want bigger and modern, spring a little more for a Club room.

Just checked out and had a great two night stay the service is excellent and the location was great. We had access to the regency club which we used every morning and every night for cocktails. I did feel that the public spaces were a bit dated, the rooms were updated and very we'll presented. We love the TOTO toilet.

Room Tip: Reserve a Regency Club room

Yup, this hotel's service is outstanding as per Japanese culture of respect and discipline. Right from the moment we aligned from the airport limousine bus up to the day we left our luggage after check out, all the staff's mannerism have been perfect. They genuinely try to help you in any way they can ie asking for directions on the subway, eating recommendations, apologize for no early check in.

The hotel looks dull and could use some more festive lights outside to compete with nearby HIlton. But overall, in the competitive hotel warfare, this Ninja Warrior wins.

Yes this hotel is very brown but it's great once you get over that. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Not huge but a good size for Tokyo. The staff are very helpful and the front desk people (both reception and concierge) have excellent English. Recommend using them to make restaurant bookings - the concierge desk has a long list of good restaurants around Shinjuku. I had room service one night as I was unwell - excellent quality and reasonably priced.

It is a bit of a walk to Shinjuku central area but the shuttle bus is good. Also there's the Tochomae subway station across the street from the hotel which enables you to avoid the massive Shinjuku station. We loved that.

The only disappointment was the buffet breakfast. Very pricey for what it is - a moderate barely acceptable buffet with limited choice in items like bread, hot food, cheese and fruit. Not as good as the Hyatt in Kyoto and way behind the buffet breakfasts offered by the Shangri-La and Intercontinental chains.

Just spent two nights at the Hyatt Regency in Shinjuku and enjoyed every minute there. The hotel is beautiful, room was large for Japanese standards. Got a renovated room on the 25th floor, with great view and all the amenities that one would expect from a Hyatt hotel. Service is excellent, which is usual in Japan. The hotel is very close to Shinjuku by shuttle or subway (didn't walk there though). But all the buildings around the hotel are office buildings (mainly public buildings I think) and so it doesn't feel like you are in a live place in the evening, it gives a bit of a ghost town feeling. Definitely recommend and would come back.

Don't let the relentless 1980's brown put you off, this is a comfortable and well located hotel with great staff. The Tochomae subway station is 100 metres walk and there is a courtesy bus to Shinjuku every 20 mins. Rooms are large, clean and comfortable. The breakfast cafe is average and a bit pricey. There's also a well stocked 7-11 on level 1's mezzanine.

Room Tip: East facing rooms get a great view of Mt Fuji on a clear day.
