“Good Hotel but Check in Procedure is unfriendly”
Reviewed April 16, 2014

Great, spacious, nicely-hard matrass and washroom. Just problematic that check in time is 2pm and before that the officers wouldnt let you check in. (arrived at 11am so I wandered around and return to hotel, queue again to check in at 2pm). They only have 1 room available and told us that we needed to check in again for the second room. while the line up was getting longer and longer. So we got angry and finally got two rooms ready after the staff made several attempts through her computer.
Overal, rooms are spacious, concierge is helpful and it is a hotel which has direct access to Airport Limousine Bus. So we were dropped in and departed exactly in hotel lobby. Location is 5 minute walk from Shinjuku station and some shopping area.

Room Tip: Twin bed room is spacious and prepared for 3 persons (we requested for 2 adults+1 child)

Overnighting in Tokyo after a cruise. Hotel is well situated and would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. Very central an close to the shinjuku station rail and underground. Lots of places to eat and department stores within easy walking distance.

Room Tip: High floor will give good views.

I arrived too early in the morning, and I knew that the check-in time is 2PM, but the bell escort me to the front desk right after I exit the bus. So I thought maybe I can do the check-in process first? But when I ask Front Desk to check-in, I got rejected coldly, saying that the Check-in was 2PM, and was not offered alternative option....Therefore, I had no other options but to hang around in the area until the check-in time. When I asked the Guest Relation staff for the area map, I was given a icy cold eye-contact, and handed the map to me with a single hand. Throughout all these time, he remain sitted on his station . No staff was engaging me, and no service was delivered.
When we came back to check-in in the afternoon, we asked for a room that is near by the elevator (didn't want to go all the way to the end of the hallway) the Front Desk agent confirmed immediately that our whole stay is going to be in the same room we requested. But then we soon discovered that our room is IN THE VERY END of the hallway. Maybe the staff cannot truely understood our request, but they did not bother to double confirm with us.....

The room itself was actually spacious and nice, though. And the Bell staffs and Housekeeping provides very good and efficient service. But the Front Desk Staff needs to work on the language skill since they need to deal with lots of foreigners.

We stayed for 7 nights in the Plaza Luxe in the South Tower of Keio Plaza.

Close to Shinjuku station, clean, complimentary bottled water, beautiful view, on a clear day you can see Mt. Fuji, free wi-fi.
It perhaps does not have the "wow" factor, but it is a very comfortable hotel. There is a small supermarket in the south tower.
All in all, very convenient for our wishes.

We did not have breakfast / dinner in the hotel because there are a lot of bakeries etc. nearby.

We stayed 4 nights at the hotel. We had a renovated room in the South tower. It had a nice view, and we even saw Mt. Fuji out the window on clear days. The room was sizeable for Tokyo. All these things were included: slippers, yukata cotton robes, toiletries, Tokyo Times newspaper, wifi. There is a small fridge/mini bar and a safe too. They provide 2 bottles of complimentary water daily. The hotel has around 1500 rooms so don't expect personalized attention, but the staff was nice when we briefly interacted with them. There is direct bus service from Narita airport to the hotel and back, and it drops off and picks up at the front lobby. Very convenient. Buy a ticket at the airport and again at the hotel. Bus times are posted at the hotel at the bell hop desk. There is a subway stop directly in back of the hotel, the stop is Tochomae. It is very convenient to use to get around. There is a Starbucks across the street from the hotel's back entrance in a plaza. We did not dine at the Keio Plaza hotel, but it has several restaurants on site. There was usually a line at the breakfast restaurant when we walked by, as well. We did not use the small gym, which had several treadmills. We enjoyed tea and light snacks at the hotel lounge, which had a city view and some interesting Japanese topic books to browse in gardens, Kyoto, kaiseki, art, etc. I would stay here again.

I stayed in March, 2014 for 5 days. Great location in Shinjuku, staff very helpful and very comfortable room.
Go to the Government Building very close to the hotel, where you can have a great view of Tokyo from the 45th floor, free!

Pretty disappointing. On checking we were told we'd been 'upgraded'. Our. ' upgraded' room was extremely dated and contrasted very poorly with the cheaper hotel we'd stayed at on our arrival in Japan. After going down to reception to complain, we were allocated one of the 'luxe' rooms. Whilst this was a distinct improvement, it was no better than our standard room in the first hotel we'd stayed in. I noticed that when we first checked in someone else was requesting a room change for similar reasons.

The breakfast, included in our package, was also pretty average.
In summary, I wouldn't recommend the hotel and certainly wouldn't stay there again when there are clearly better quality, cheaper hotels in Tokyo.

Room Tip: Whatever you do, don't accept one of the un refurbished rooms unless you like shabby, 80s decor
