“Four star hotel close to Shinjuku station”
Reviewed October 12, 2013

Huge 40 years old hotel where at least rooms in the main tower been renovated. When coming by train from Narita airport take West Exit and walk ten minutes to the hotel. Lots of modern skyskrapers around this hotel.
Was staying in Premier Room which was on 34th floor with great view. Room was large enough and modern but without character. WLAN works very well. Daily english newspaper was provided every morning.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the Main Tower.

From the large hotel inventories in Tokyo, Keio Plaza was a superb choice. Extremely comfortable, very well maintained and luxurious hotel. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. Plus, this hotel's location allows one to stay in a well located, upscale and upbeat neighborhood, but one can still get plenty of rest!
It's a great choice!

i went with my wife on may 2013 and find everything is good except the breakfast.. the food is not my taste, better you find another food outside with cheaper price and also better taste

pros :
- the place is near underground exit connected to shinjuku station , next to the side hotel door
- close to yodobashi camera and LABI so if you a gadget mania like me, it's like heaven
- the price is reasonable cheap compare to others great hotel
- keio plaza is a disney neighborhood hotel so you just need to register in front counter and the disney bus will pick you up but BETTER TO RESERVE IT IN ADVANCE or the bus will full, they have limited seat for each day schedule
- you also can reserve shuttle to airport either NARITA or HANEDA , it very helpful especially to far NARITA airport

cons :
- the breakfast is not recommended, better find better food outside

We are a family of 4 and had to get 2 rooms as there were no family rooms, so this made the stay kind of expensive, but really it only worked out to be about $180 per night per room so I guess that really isn't that much for the location of this hotel.
The room on the surface looked quite nice, but everything was a bit rough around the edges...wall paper peeling, carpet grubby, mould around the bathroom that you could smell in the bedroom.
Bathroom products were ok, bed comfortable, nespresso machine was nice but no espn channel as stated on the website.

We were on the 25th floor and had a nice outlook over the city.

Staff at check in/out were efficient but not friendly and at the bell counter I stood there for 10 minutes without anyone making eye contact or saying "be with you soon".

Easy undercover walk to the train station and shopping centres made this hotel very convenient, but I would probably try a different hotel next time.

People value aspects and features of hotels differently depending on their preferences and objectives. I like to stay at 2-3 different hotels in Tokyo depending on the purpose of my stay.

When I am in Tokyo with a group of MBA students, a large hotel with several restaurants within the hotel or nearby and easy access to/from train and subway stations is needed. This large hotel is in Shinjuku with a vibrant night life, within a few minutes walking distance from the Shinjuku train station. Nearby there is a Starbucks. Also, there is a post office with ATM machines to withdraw cash which is almost always the cheapest way to purchase Yen (let your bank know you will be using the ATM card in Japan, just like you do with your credit card issuing banks).

Keio Plaza has two towers; depending on the floor, rooms can be very large and recently renovated. There is a small fitness center with two treadmills from the past century but they get the job done. On the same 7th floor of the main tower, there are several restaurants; one of them is a branch of Kyubey, a great sushi bar. There is a convenience store at the basement of the hotel. There are too many restaurants to list them all here. There are two bars at the top with excellent views. In addition, you are within walking distance to Park Hyatt which has the New York Bar (featured in the Lost in Translation) with even better views and live jazz music every evening.

You will be far away from the financial center of the town (Marinouchi, Nihombashi, east of the Imperial Palace in general) so if that is your objective then it makes sense to stay in that area. If not, Keio Plaza is a very nice option.

I would only recommend this hotel is location is a priority. Which for me location is at the top of the list when traveling. Steps from Shinjuku station it is very convenient to get to all the major sites in Tokyo. It is a very large hotel with several towers. The hotel, like many area hotels, will store your luggage at no cost if you plan to take the bullet train around Japan. This was very helpful for us!

Room Tip: This hotel can offer some incredible views of Tokyo...be sure to ask for a room with a view.

This hotel is has a great location. It seems that they thought about everything to make your stay convenient and pleasant.
I indeed recommend this hotel.
The price is high but this is how things are in Japan.
