Shinjuku Prince Hotel

What a great hotel, single room is perfect for the solo traveller. Rooms are clean and modern and quiet. Hotel has free internet computers in lobby, but best feature is the great location; five minutes from Shinjuku station, surrounded by restaurants and bars, and right next to red light district. Definately would stay here again and highly recommend it

Stayed in double room type B on 8th floor. Easy to find, 2mins across from shinjuku train station east exit. Check-in staff efficient & english speaking. Room size 30msq, with small tv, fridge and airplane sized bathroom. There are smoking & non smoking floors, however both rooms reeked strongly of cigarette smell. A/C is central & cannot be altered, no window openings. No issues with noise

Room Tip: Be sure to remind them of a non smoking room at check-in if a non smoker

We stayed at this hotel twice - the first 2 nights (Standard Double Room - 15.3SQM) at the start of our trip then again during our last 3 nights (Deluxe Double Room - 30.6SQM). It was definitely worth paying a little extra for double the room size! Rooms were clean, very comfortable, and offered sweepping city views. Location was at the pulse of Shinjuku with plenty of restaurants, bars, and night life (including red light district) literally at the foot of the hotel. Reception is outdated however the only time spent there was for wifi access (no access in rooms I'm afraid). Staff of course friend and spoke good english. Overall, very pleasant stay and would stay again.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for double the room size - trust me, it's worth it!

This hotel is in a fantastic location- right near Shinjuku Station (you can literally see the hotel from the Kabuki-cho exit of the station) and close to dozens upon dozens of restaurants, shops, and anything else you could want. Some others have commented about this hotel being near the "red light district," and while Kabuki-cho (the surrounding area of the hotel) can get a little seedy at night, it's really nothing by American standards, in my opinion, not to mention the hotel itself is very nice and upscale. I would not hesitate to come here with children or family, in other words. We got a double room, and yes, it was TINY (room for two twin beds and a nightstand in between- that's about it), but the view was SPECTACULAR, you could see what felt like the entire city, and we were barely in the room except to sleep so it didn't matter to us- however, if you need lots of room (or quiet), take note. There is a shopping mall right in the hotel, and there is free Wifi on the lobby floor. One of the best things about this hotel was that it has a very distinctive silhouette, so even though Shinjuku can be a bit disorienting, we were almost always able to spot our hotel in the distance as a marker. Hotel was very clean, staff was very nice (although I found this true throughout Japan, whether it was an upscale hotel or a 7-11). We got a 40% discount on the hotel room through a booking website which made the price reasonable, otherwise it would have been too much, so shop around before booking.

First time in Tokyo - this Hotel is all about location and is in the heart of where it is all happening - excellant shopping very close by, McD across the road, short walk to the station as well huge shopping malls.
The rooms are small but functional, great bathroom, good views a little noisy with trains at night, but thats what Tokyo is all about. Vending machine a very easy to use, but can be expensive.
Would stay there again the whole area is buzzing and great for eating out.

Room Tip: Be prepared for a tiny but practicle room

This hotel was spotless.
You can do a currency exchange in the lobby.
Not too bad of a rate either.
Loved how quiet it was at night.

Room Tip: Walking distance to everywhere!
