You should know: The ramen broth here is fish based so it's a somewhat saltier experience that is uniquely different from tonkatsu, shoyu, or miso based broths. The place is small with proportionally small seating (no room to lean back on your barstool here!) You should probably go with the chef's recommendations on spice, noodles, etc. unless you've had ramen here before.

All in all a great experience and i would definitely go back if i find myself craving some ramen in shinjuku, especially at odd hours. My GF especially liked the flat noodles that accompanied the more traditional wavy ones. The pork is quite good, but I would argue that it does not "melt" like stated in other reviews. It's not a pork belly cut and it's cooked differently. But its texture and taste accompanies the fishy broth quite well.

What makes this ramen restaurant different from other ramen restaurants in Tokyo? Located in Golden Gai, Nagi serves fish based stock ramen with handmade noodles instead of the usual chicken or pork based broth. It is conveniently open 24/7. We stopped by at 3am after a night of clubbing and still had to wait for a short period of time. We were recommended to this place by a local. It surely did not disappoint. You walk up a flight of narrow stairs and pay for your meal at the machine. Then you get seated and served. Why the 4 stars? The broth was a bit too salty for me (I get it, it's fish after all lol) but I do appreciate the unique dining experience. The meat, though, was soooo tender and melts in your mouth. It's a must try!

This is not just ramen but ramen that has been touched by the hand of God. Queue patiently, order from the vending machine, choose your spice (15+), richness (rich), heaviness (you want extra collegen), hardness of noodles (hard). The thick noodles, the melting pork and the sardine-flavoured broth are a ¥1,500 ticket to heaven.

Wonderful ramen, with fish based stock and handmade noodles. Strong fish based flavor ramen and It depends on your preference, but it was delicious. Flavourful, tasty and cheap. Bowl comes with two kinds of noodles, pork, nori and egg. Tsukemen comes with small, medium or large portion of noodles, no difference in price, medium is more than enough. The place is very tiny and I got there without waiting but it can be busy during pick hours. I highly recommend the place.
