We stayed at the Hanabi Hotel and was a 3 minute walk to the train station. It is a wonderful area as it is so central. The train is easy - one line goes to Shinjuku, the other to Ueno. JR Yamonote line is one big circle so if you remember that Ueno is at 2 o'clock and Shinjuku at 8 o'clock you will never get lost. JR Yamonote line is green and at the station ticket machine no.5 is in English. We were in Tokyo for 8 days and used this line a few times per day and we had 25 AUD on our Suica card each. The area is full of convenience stores so you can grab pre-made meals and try the sandwiches. They are the best you will ever eat. You have to try the "UFO" chicken...... Fried chicken that comes out on a round, heavy skillet with cheese in the middle. There is fairy floss in animal shapes, amazing Street food and plenty of stores selling beauty products from Korea. It is one stop from Shinjuku and not as crazy. It is also completely safe. Halal foods are also on offer with a row of shops and grocery stores all halal safe. You will love it here.

We just walked heading to down town actually but we found this korean town.. very crowded. Lots of good food. And heaven for ladies because you can find many cosmetics products and of course cheap ones. A very long road but small only available by Walking. Very interesting

This was neat to see in Tokyo! Korean town! Loved all the shops! But it was super crowded in some areas where you're shoulder to shoulder or single file trying to get through!

Found it to be full of cosmetic shops and cheap eateries. Seems like it needs upgrading/tidying up to bring it up to standard. The vibe wasn't as good as other inner suburbs.

If you are into Korean things and food, this is the place to be in Tokyo. Shops, supermarket and restaurants everywhere!
