We stayed here for a week and had a really positive experience. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful, and they also spoke very good English. Room we stayed in was small, which is what you expect to find with most accommodation in Tokyo, however if you are like my girlfriend and I who spent a majority of our time outside of our room doing the “touristy” things, then this shouldn't be a problem. The gym isn't too bad with 2 treadmills, a bike, an elliptical machine and free weights and a bench. The location is very good, close to a lot of eateries and there is a 7-11 and a few other convenience stores all a short walk away. It’s about a 15-20 minute walk from the "busy" part of Shinjuku, I didn't really see this as a problem. The Shinjuku-gyoemmae subway station is about a 5 minute walk away, however if you are catching the Narita express to Shinjuku station and then the Subway (Marunouchi Line) to Shinjuku-gyoemmae, I highly recommend catching a taxi (about ¥1000) from Shinjuku station to the hotel as there are definitely no escalators and I am 99% certain that there was no elevator at Shinjuku-gyoemmae subway station, so if you have heavy luggage or multiple bags, lugging these things up the stairs might be an issue for you. The breakfast on offer is pretty sub-standard so I recommend purchasing breakfast provisions from a nearby convenience store and utilising the kitchen in your room. Citadines Shinjuku provides clean and affordable accommodation with friendly staff in a great location and I highly recommend this place to other travellers.

We stayed here for 3 nights in April. Not the biggest of rooms but extremely well organised, everything you could want for, spotlessly clean and a great location. Small kitchenette area included but we didn't use it as there are too many great restaurant choices in the Shinjuku area. Continental breakfast very basic and a bit poor, but inexpensive, so you only get what you pay for.
Overall a no frills, convenient place to stay.

Stayed here for 4 nights. A quiet and cozy area of Shinjuku, about 10-15mins from the main Shinjuku JR station and 5mins from the nearest subway.

If you don't mind being slightly away from the main area and are able to walk some distances, then this could be good for you. Very nice, clean and with warm and friendly staff. We stayed in the Studio apartment and it was small, but no smaller than any other Tokyo hotel.

Would definitely recommend this to singles, couples and families with older children. But if you have toddlers and elderly, then the walk to subway could be long for these folks

We stayed here for a feel of the city after 5 days in urayasu . We chose this based on trip advisor review and a family member who had a good experience . It's quite a walk from the station especially if you have luggage . Otherwise it's close to the shopping areas , close to small restaurants and there's a 7-eleven next door . Check in was easy . You pay for your stay as soon as you check in . Room was clean and ready when we got there . No waiting . The room is small especially since they set up the sofa bed for my son . You get used to the space after a day or two . It's a compact room . A double bed , sofa bed , a writing area , TV , a sink outside the toilet , a bathtub and the best part : a well equipped kitchen . The kitchen has a stove, toaster , ref , cooking implements and plates and utensils for 2. You can just rent if you need extra . The room is very clean .there were minor issues but these were resolved right away . Staff is very eager to please and efficient . It's a good place to stay in shinjuku . Safe , quiet , very clean and a few blocks away from the station . I would recommend this for small families . I find it convenient that a kitchen is available for breakfast and for simply eating with real plates and utensils at the convenience of your room for the nights you get home late .

We stayed in a triple room (two single beds and one sofa bed). Our room was spacious enough to walk around and store our luggages. Bathroom was equipped with fresh towels, shampoo and soap. Sink is located outside the bathroom. Kitchen had adequate pots and pans, cutlery, and utensils, plus an electric stove top, a microwave oven, a toaster, and a mini fridge. Room was cleaned daily. Housekeeping would also wash dirty dishes placed in the sink. Shoe closet at the front door was a nice touch, along with bedroom slippers. It was rainy on some days, so being able to borrow umbrellas at the front desk was another positive point.

We did not have breakfast at the hotel, as the area behind the hotel was filled with many eateries. There were stores specialising in ramen, Japanese curry, soba, rice bowls (look out for Sukiya, a chain like Yoshinoya), and Japanese snacks. Area was popular with business people on weekdays. Cafes like Lad's were nice too; we had good coffee, crepes, and hotdogs. It was a quick walk through that area to the nearest subway station, Shinjuku Gyoemmae. Two stops to Shinjuku station on the red line. A taxi ride from Shinjuku station to Citadines would cost around 900-1000 yen, if I remember correctly.

We left behind a shopping bag at a mall one day, and front desk staff helped us phone the mall's office to check its lost and found corner. The staff who helped us were two Japanese ladies; one had cropped hair, and the other was tall, with a short ponytail. Both were patient and understanding. We would like to sincerely express our thanks to them.

Check-out was simple and quick, as was check-in, though my experience was spoiled by poor attitude from the staff member who completed my check-out process. She had a curt tone and impatient body language. This was a slight let-down, since we had encountered such lovely staff as described earlier.

Despite this minor hiccup, Citadines was a great place to live in. I would recommend this residence to those looking for a value-for-money, spacious stay, located a short distance away from the hubbub of Shinjuku.

We stayed at the hotel (parents with 22 years daughter) for a week. Although the room was a little bit small for us, we enjoyed our stay. Staff is helpful, some has very good English, some less... kitchenette was very helpful, especially if you have troubles adjusting to local food. location is great very near the metro and walking distance from Shinjuku area.
Except for the towels which were too small and too thin everything was great.
And they have laundrette downstairs.

The hotel is situated 2 stops away from the main Shinjuku station. We like its location in the quieter area but yet convenient enough. It is approximately 5 mins walk to the nearest subway station, Shinjuku Gyoemmae. There are many restaurants/small eateries along the way to the station. At Shinjuku Gyoemmae station, exit at Exit 2. when you get out of the station, turn left to go to a lane and turn left and walk along the lane until you reach a MAIN road, the last road, I think. Then, turn right, pass the 7-11, a few more steps and you will reach the hotel.

The subway line is Marunouchi line, which is one of the metro lines. So, you could buy a one-day pass to travel at all Metro subway line. If you stay further out, then there is extra to pay for the private suburban lines.

A few doors away from the hotel is a 7-11 shop, and another 30 metres from there is a Family Mart. So, it is rather convenient.

Free WIFI, many tv channels including a few English ones such as Disney and Fox. Just need to change the language. Bottles of water, Japanese tea, English tea, coffee, creamer and sugar are provided once per visit (not per day). However, if you need to replenish, you can always get more from the tray placed at the reception. Sewing kit, cotton bud, shower cap and one more (can't remember) is at the reception too. We booked a non-smoking room and there was no traces of cigarette smell.

We were grateful that they allowed us to check in early without extra charge when we arrived at about 12.30pm since the room was ready. Check in time was stated at 2pm. At another hotel in Kobe, we were charged extra by the hour for early check-in. When we requested for late check in on our last day, they were again gracious to allow late check out at 1.00pm without extra charge.

There is a gym and laundry room. Buy the detergent from the reception at 54 Yen. It cost 200 Yen for a 4.5kg wash, roughly 30 mins. The dryer costs 100 Yen per 30 mins. We needed 1.5 hours to dry our clothes. So, all in, 554 Yen.

One gripe is that the pillow is too flat, causing some pain in my neck. There is a kitchenette which we didn't use. No problem of language with the reception staff.

Overall, we are happy with the hotel. The rating for children activities is 1 because there is none, not because it is terrible.
