The room is small but has everything you need. The staff are super friendly and speak English well. The only faults - there's no room service as its an apartment hotel and you have to pay an extra $10 for the average breakfast. Otherwise it's a great choice.

Very nice and well appointed rooms. Modern interiors and always fresh and clean. I like the small kitchenette in the room. Love the gym at the ground floor. Walking distance to Isetan and all the important shopping ares in Shinjuku. Definitely my first choice in Shinjuku. Very reasonable room rates. Only downside is the lobby lacks air conditioning, wish they had a swimming pool and its at least 10 minute walk to the nearest train station. Its a plus also that the area is surrounded by local restaurants with a variety of dishes to choose from. Forget the view caus theres none. Will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Booking.com is the key!

We spent six nights in two rooms at the Citidines Shinjuku in Tokyo and we could not have had a better experience, thanks mostly to the front desk staff. They spoke excellent English and they all would go out of their way every day to help in any way possible. It was a level of service you expect at top of the line hotels but one you rarely get. We thought the rooms and facilities were excellent as well. They were clean and comfortable, we didn't get much outside noise, and the daily breakfast had both western and Japanese options. Also, the location is a 10 minute walk to the Metro or the heart of Shinjuku shopping so it is easy to get around. And the hotel is in it's own little neighborhood of shops and restaurants. Free wi-fi in the lobby and the rooms was also very handy for planning purposes. But it was really the superior staff that made the difference!

We had two rooms for our family of four. One had a double bed and the other twin beds. The rooms were pretty large for Japan with a small kitchen in entryway and sitting area. Everything is cunningly fit in. Plenty of closet space, really good shower, toilet with all the gadgets, wifi for ipad in the room and lobby, and tea/coffee fixings and 2 complimentary bottles of water. The only downsides are the beds and pillows are really hard but I found that in all of Japan, not just here. Really well located. 7-11 store to get cash almost next door, Supermarket just 1/4 block away and the subway Shinjuku-gyoemmae is about 10 minutes or less walk away, down restaurant filled blocks. Recommend Shell Restaurant for good food in sort of a hole in the wall place.
The staff at the hotel were really helpful. My birthday happened to occur while I was there and they gave me a gift bag of cookies and a card! Also, they gave directions and booked taxis when we asked.
      Good value.
Really loved this place and would recommend it highly!

      Walking directions:
At Shinjuku Gyoemmae station, take exit 2. There’s a series of stairs so it’s a bit of a struggle with heavy luggage. Once you reach the top of the stairs, turn left. Make another left at the first street (it’s a small side street). Walk all the way to the end of that street until you hit a main road. Turn right at the main road (you should see a 7 Eleven at the street corner). Walk on the main road for about 50 meters and you’ll see the hotel to your right.

LOCATION: 3.5/5. Location was decent. It’s a 5 min walk to the closest subway station (Shinjuku Gyoemmae) but a 15 minute walk from the main train station (JR Rail Shinjuku) and the main shopping/restaurant area of Shinjuku. There is a grocery store and some restaurants near the hotel but the area is pretty quiet.

SERVICE: 4.5/5. Staff spoke English and were very helpful in giving directions. One staff member helped me reserve Mt. Fuji bus tickets over the phone.

      CLEANLINESS: 4/5. Spotless.

ROOM: 4.5/5. Size is decent for two people but will be tight (especially with luggage) for more than that. Room includes a kitchenette with a stove top, microwave, fridge (that wasn’t very cold), kettle, pots, and utensils. The only downside was that the bed was very firm and the pillows were very flat. Also, there was a sofa bed couch that was tacky Orange and vinyl – not comfortable or appealing. Bonus was that there was free wireless internet in the lobby and in the rooms! The carpet did feel a little damp one day when we left the air conditioning on for a long time.

AMENITIES: 3.5/5. There are laundry facilities. It costs 53 YEN for a pack of laundry detergent, available at the front desk, 200 YEN to wash a load of clothes, and 100 YEN to dry for 30 minutes. Only downside is that the dryer takes 2 hours to dry clothes! There is also a small gym. Buffet breakfast is available for 735 YEN but there isn’t much variety so I would recommend eating at the local restaurants instead.

VALUE: 5/5. I would most likely stay here again but would much prefer a location closer to the main Shinjuku area.
