“Great stay! Would stay here again!”
Reviewed April 14, 2012 via mobile

I stayed at Citadines Shinjuku over Easter weekend with 3 friends (2 per room). The size of the room was much larger than I thought it would be. We stayed in a double, and didn't feel cramped at all. The free WI-FI was very convenient. The staff was friendly and very helpful.

The neighborhood is great. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. The Tokyo Metro staton is only 4 short blocks away.

I would stay at Citadines again!

I stayed at Citadines Shinjuku with my wife for 5 nights at the end of a three week trip around Japan in March. I was pleasantly surprised with the size and layout of the room it was much bigger than I had expected and the layout was modern and spotlessly clean. The location is great, being only a short walk to all the action. The staff were very helpful and courteous and no problem was too big. This hotel was great value for money and the next time I am in Tokyo I will definitely stay here again.

Booked on line, Booked Early - GREAT RATE!
Very Clean.
Everyone mentions the size of the rooms in Tokyo - VERY WELL DESIGNED.
Bathrooms are small. Bathrooms are Super clean, Bathrooms have a washlet.

Very comfortable bed.
Stay here.

They have a larger room you need to book directly with the hotel - they don't have many!

Perfect for a Tokyo stay!

Room Tip: Ring hotel or email directly ask about the large King room. Don't have many!

I checked in to CItadines on 4th Apr and will be checking out on 12th Apr - yes! I am comfortably lying on my bed in citadines while writing this review! :)

If you are coming here F&E just like me, it's quite simple actually.I arrived via haneda airport, inform the counter you want to travel to Shinjuku, purchase a airport limo bus ticket(~800 yen per adult one way), proceed to the airport bus counter outside the airport, board the limo and alight at Shinjuku station. There will be a direction sign showing the stop. Anyway, most people will alight at this station which is about 1 hr15 min ride. Once you alight, there are 2 options to get to the apartment. If you have many luggages, the train will be a bad idea as you need to navigate through the main SHinjuku station and it's a HUGE and complicated station to navigate on your 1st day of arrival of Tokyo! Plus the fact that there are many staircases you have to carry your luggages thru the subway and you have to walk thru to MAnorouchi line to take the subway to the apartment. Take a cab if you can. However, if you feel adventurous like me, this is the way to take the train with ur luggages.
Once you alight the limo bus, turn right. You will see a traffic junction for u to cross opposite. After crossing, you will see a flight of stairs leading down to Shinjuku station. Take that stairs and once down, look for direction signs to Manorouchi line. You will have to walk thru the main SHinjuku stn for abt 8 mins. Once you reach the manourochi line, buy ticket at the counter. It costs 160 yen per pax. Alight at Shinjuku Gynoemmae station( I think it's 2 stops away). Once you reach the stop, look for exit 2. Once out of exit 2, turn left. You will reach a junction and turn left at this junction. Walk all the way down the road ( abt 8-10 mins walk). On your right, you will see a 7 eleven. Turn right after the 7 eleven and you will see citadines. :) it's really a easy walk but the flight of stairs at the subway station will leave you tired. :p
As for food, the are pleny of choices. Turn left from the apartment and walk down for abt 8 mins. You will see a small shop that has a red signage called Hoto Moto on ur left. It has really good katsudon and value for money don set that ranges from 480 yen - 670 yen. It's only take away tho... But u should really try the food here. Else, just keep walking down and u will reach shinjuku station where food are aplenty but ex.
In front of the 7-eleven next to citadines, there is a bus stop. I strongly recommend this bus for people who have kids or elderly who want to make their way to shinjuku main station. There is only 1 bus at this bus stop (61) and the schedule is quite frequent. Just pay 200 yen for 1 adult 1 way and take all the way to shinjuku bus terminal ( 4 stops only). Once you reach this terminal, the shinjuku station is just opposite you. It's very fast and convenient. You could take this bus back to take the airport limo bus once u r familiar w it. You also buy ur ticket and board the bus to gotemba outlet here opposite the bus terminal. ( look out for the bic camera signage and on the ground level is the office to buy the ticket from odakyu bus).

As for the room, nothing to fault! It seems small at first, but it has everything!! It's all very compact but dun feel claustrophobic at all. Really good value for money. Bed is comfy, toilet space is good enuf for jap standard and it's clean! No regret staying here.

My family and I just spent a week at this hotel. We took two rooms, as they did not have any apartment where we could fit with two sons (15 and 9 y-o). It was great. The location is excellent, close to Shinjuku and the main department stores. The kitchen is really convenient - we had breakfast and dinner at the apartment every day, which helped us save a lot. Actually this was the main reason why we chose this hotel - we wanted to buy our dinner at the basement of the department stores and enjoy the great food one can find only in Japan. Highly recommend it.

Only stayed for one night. Stayed in a 3 bed (two single beds and a couch made into a almost double bed). Was tidy, clean and the staff were very nice. Doors at front lock at midnight which might not be ideal if you show up after then like us, but we still got in. It has it's own little kitchen too in the rooms and was a 5-10 min walk from shinjuku station.

Tokyo hotels can be hard - small, difficult to communicate with, and not close enough to anything. Or, if those issues are not present, then there can very often be a price issue. Citadine Shinjuku is a serviced apartment style hotel, with spacious (by Japanese standards) rooms that are well equipped and laid out. Free wifi in the rooms gives is even more function. The price we paid was very reasonable, and the staff are friendly and eager to help. It's a short walk from the hotel to Shinjuku station (or the maranouchi subway line is really close by), as well as the department stores, Shinjuku Gyoen park, and 2 chome. This was the best stay I've ever had in Tokyo, and would really recommend it as a base for your megalopolis adventure!
