It is a long walk to the shrine, so wear good shoes. We were lucky enough to see a Japanese wedding. There are charms you can buy for various prayers. There is a nice small lake which is quieter than the rest of the shrine grounds.

30mins walk from Shinjuku station or 5 mins walk from Ginza line: either Gaiemmae station or Aoyama-itchōme station.
The entire stretch of street was yellow covered with yellow gingko leaves. Very beautiful.
There is an overcrowded Shake Shack burger outlet just off the street.
