Hundred Stay Tokyo Shinjuku
Ranked #17 of 83 Hotels / Ryokan in Shinjuku
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed April 1, 2014

The Hundred Stay initially seemed a little remote from the action of Tokyo, but once we worked out how to use the trains we were very happy with the location. Our room was a good size (more like a little apartment) and the staff were very helpful. A great hotel.

I stayed here on the second part of a business trip in Tokyo for 8 days and thought that the location and also the standard of the room was great. The room was clean with plenty of toiletries, small sachets of tea & coffee & even two cotton robes. The bed was very comfortable with crisp cotton linens.
The room had plenty of storage and was pleasantly large for Tokyo. It was nice to have the addition of a microwave and fridge as you don’t always want to eat out every night. The breakfast wasn’t great but there are plenty of places to grab a coffee and a snack nearby. The supermarket below Hundred Stay was extremely useful for picking up anything you needed to make your stay more comfortable and it was very reasonably priced and is open until midnight. There was also a shop to the side where you could get takeaway meals or Bento boxes again great if you were working late or didn’t want to eat out. The restaurant directly below the hotel was very good value if you wanted pasta, pizza, steak etc – a two course meal with a small carafe (two small glasses of wine) was around £7 unbelievable value and the food was good. The hotel is located within a short walk of both Okubo and Shin-Okubo stations only one stop from Shinjuku so had excellent connections to anywhere within Tokyo. The trains are certainly the best way to get around in this huge city. Google maps is great for finding the train routes and it also gives you the price which helps as unfortunately the maps in the stations above the ticket machines do not have the English names so it can be difficult to work out what price ticket you should by.
Wifi in the room worked well and I found the Ipod dock very useful given the very limited TV channels in English.
To my surprise I didn’t realise I had a view of Mount Fuji from my room until 4 days into my stay due to the cloud cover. I was very surprised one morning to open the curtains to see it in full view.
The reception staff were very polite & helpful with organising a taxi for me in the snow in the early hours on a Saturday morning when I needed to get to Shinjuku to get the Limosine bus to the airport.
All in all a great stay and I would pick this hotel again for a business or leisure trip.

We got a 2 BR suite for 3 adults and 1 child, stayed 5 nights. Had 2 bathrooms, 1 spacious room with king bed, 1 single room with single bed, kitchen, and small living room. I was with my 3 yo child and the spacious place was great so he could still play around like he was at home.

It's a block away from Okubo Sobu Line and i think 3 blocks away from Shin Okubo Yamanote line. its basically one stop from the Shinjuku station.

Lots of eateries downstairs. We frequented Saizeteria and across the street, this chinese-japanese fusion resto that served the biggest and yummiest dumplings! There's also a small supermarket which sells take out hot food . My kid loved the fried chicken there!

Location was the first point we chose to stayed there. less than 10 mins walk to JR station(Shin-okubo). Room are spacious for this price if you compare to other hotel room at this price in Tokyo. Friendly Staff. There are docking system, home theater set in the room. Easily find food everywhere nearby the hotel. Has no doubt and definitely will back to the hotel again. Very comfortable stay in large room that provided welcome respite from the madness that is Tokyo! Very short walk from railway station, and provides good access to shinjuku. Carpets were a bit grubby but that's the only gripe. We were given a free upgrade, free wifi available and showers were very comfortable. Room also had a nice sound system and English speaking tv channels.

Located at the northern part of Shinjuku one block to the Okubo JR Sobu train station. It's one stop to Shinjuku Station. The entrance is on the side street behind Saizeria Restaurant. It's about a 10 minute walk to Shinjuku. The studio unit we had was spacious and fully equipped with frig, microwave, cooking facilities with utensils, internet by ethernet and WIFI. Breakfast was included but very basic with pastries/bread, rice porridge, yogurt, juice and coffee/tea. Take a walk on Okubo Dori eastbound. There's a nice pastry shop, Trinion)?), on the south side, and continue on into Korean Town. There's a nice family style restaurant that serves a Western/Japanese food with a drink bar. Beer and wine also available. It's called Jonathan's on the south side. There's also a well stocked market on the corner for all your needs.

After research for a couple of months before our trip we decided to book the Hundred-Stay In Shinjuku and we could not be happier, the location for us was perfect, staff were friendly and attentive, rooms had Wifi and were spacious with an amazing view on the higher levels. We Stayed 5 nights felt like we were at home.
Only negative is the breakfast, which was the same everyday and had no variety what so ever.

Room Tip: Ask for higher floor
