“Very good location and freidnly staffs”
Reviewed March 28, 2012

I stayed this hotel from Mar 22 - Mar 25, 2012.
The size of room is bigger than normal business hotel in Tokyo. Front dest staffs were very friendly and happy to assist guests. The location is very good. There are two stations nearby the hotel 'Okubo station & Shin-Okubo station' and it takes only 15 minutes walk to Shinjuku.
Just 2-3 minutes walk, there iis street called a little Seoul where are many Korean restaurants and bars. I enjoyed staying there.

Just returned from staying one week at Hundred Stay Apartment in Shinjuku. On arrival which was late around 11pm Reception was very courteous and friendly providing a smooth check in process. We had a 1 Bedroom Studio Room located on the 19th Floor with fantastic views. The room itself was a little bigger than a standard hotel room with the exception of a small kitchenette equipped with pots, pans, cutlery and an induction cook top plus microwave. The bathroom was reasonably sized, clean and comfortable. We were provided with breakfast coupons for free breakfast which was terrific and consisted of coffee, tea, juice, conflakes, yoghurt, berries, and a slection of toast, croissants and fruit buns. There is a laundry located on B2 which is open anytime with easy to follow instructions for the washing machines. The room also had free lan internet. The hotel is located about a 2-3 minute walk from Okubu station, one stop from Shinjuku on the Chuo Sobu line. There is a Tesco supermarket downstairs which is very convenient for grocery shopping. The staff were always happy to see you and assist with any questions. I would definitely recommend Hundred Stay Apartments in Shinjuku.

A 15 minute walk from Shinduku makes this an ideal base for exploring Tokyo. If one has a JR pass, then even handier as the Okubo station is less than 5 minutes away. The nearest Metro station is also at Shinduku. Tons of places to eat nearby including a 24 hour Tesco market.
However, the Hotel does have some problems. Our adult kids had an apartment on the Southern side which had brilliant views of Shinduku but the the room was unbearably hot and there was nothing the aircon could do to cope. Hotel staff acknowledged there was a problem but there was nothing they could do. Our room on the northern side which was a standard room was tiny with the furniture making it hard to open cupboards and it sounded like a wind tunnel. Room does not come with any detergent to wash dishes and when we contacted reception, we were told to go to shop and buy some. Rooms have free cabled internet connections but WiFi is only available in the lobby (for free) but each password only lasts for 24 hours and each device needs its own password ie once a day, we needed to ask for 4 passwords. This was all a bit fiddly. Continental breakfast was thrown in for us (Y600) which was a nice surprise but if it wasn't, I think we would have eaten elsewhere.

Room Tip: South side as the views but you will bake, West side you might see Mt Fuji.

Together wth my wife and grown up daughter we have just spent 8 nights at Hundred Stay Shinjjuku, Tokyo. We are very satisfied. The apartment is spacious, especially the main bedroom and the en suite bathroom.
It is quiet and tidy. The best quality, though, is its position a 7 minute walk from the Shinokubu station on the Yamanote line. To be almost next to the Yamanote line is an unestimable qualty as it makes moving around in Tokyo so much easier. We all think that this has not been communicated well enough, not in guides, nor in hotel descriptions.

We were offered free continental breakfast for our stay. 'Equo donativo dentes non inspiciuntur' said the Romans, 'you do not look a horse you have received as gift in the mouth'. The breakfast is strictly continental, and if you were late, they occasionally were short of yougurth and rolls. There is no spread or nothing else to put on the bread.

Nevertheless, we all think that we had made a very good choice when going for Hundred Stay.

Room Tip: There are several levels to choose from; we had 1607 looking north.

We booked our reservations with www.agoda.com so we got a bit of deal. The Hundred Stay Hotel was very convenient in terms of location, its a 15 min walk to Shinjuku Stn and a 3 min walk to Shin Okobu Stn. It's also in the more quiet more of Shinjuku so you're not bombarded with crazy traffic. The hotel rooms go up to the 19th floor level and I believe the rest of the upper floors are penthouse rooms. We had free breakfasts (with voucher), there's a nice gym if you wanna work out, there's a computer room and a lounge area.
Just a note: to ensure you're booking for two people make sure they know it's booking for two even if it's just one bed you're requesting for. They made us pay an extra 2000Yen because they assumed it was for one person, meanwhile we had emailed them saying the booking is for two people.
We got a nice view of the city and a bit of Mt Fiji on a clear day. The night view is better though. The room is spacious compare to other rooms in Japan. It's got a bath tub, spacious closets, nice decor and it's clean. There is wi-fi but ask right away for the password and make sure it works in your room. But all in all I would definitely stay there again because it's convenient to everything, it's peaceful and it was affordable.

Room Tip: Ask for the room with a city view, perhaps the higher floors.

We stayed here for 3 nights in January 2012. Its an easy walk to Shinjuku, about 10 mins. 2 minute walk to subway station. Lots of restaurants around.. The best feature of this mid price hotel is that its a self contained room.It has a kitchenette, plenty of plates, cups ect.A microwave and electric cooktop. With a Tesco express right next door, self catering is a breeze.Cooked ourselves bacon and eggs each morning. This is a big room and bathroom by Japanese standards,.as with all Japanese accomodation, spotlessly clean. Highly recommend this one.

Room Tip: Im sure all rooms are self contained, we just booked a standard, check with hotel when booking.

Hundred Stay, Shinjuku, Tokyo.

This is a serviced apartment and hotel, located close to Shin – Okubo station on the JR Yamanote line about 15 mins. walk from the huge Shinjuku Station. We stayed there for a week in Jan. 2012
The Hotel seems to be an older building that has been renovated to suit its present purpose. The layout of our 2BR apartment was a little quirky, but not in a bad way. The apartment consisted of lounge/ main bedroom separated by sliding doors, small kitchen, and second single bedroom off to the side, with a step down you have to watch. This room has no windows. In both rooms there was plenty of storage space for our clothes. There was a special cupboard which I finally worked out, was for putting your shoes and and changing into house footwear.

The hotel is relatively easy to find about 400m from the station. Check-in was smooth and fast, front desk staff had enough English for most things. They were also very helpful, particularly with the set-up of my new ipod which this old fool couldn't do by himself. Above and beyond, as it took some time.

Fixtures and fittings were not luxurious but good enough for the price. Stove, microwave, washing machine, proper fridge/freezer, excellent storage, two bathrooms – one very small, but appreciated. There were two TV's, and a Bose stereo/dvd, and a radio with ipod dock. Light cotton robes were provided. There were also knives, forks etc. Lots of kitchen cupboards. Free internet (cable provided) and wifi in the lobby (password needed). The rooms are serviced daily or less depending on your rate/stay. The view from the 14th floor is basically of central Tokyo, nice at night. Traffic noise is minimal, windows have been retrospectively double glazed.

There is a small gym, and a business centre with computer/ internet provided. Breakfast is available in a cafeteria space for Y600, no more than adequate (for a teenager ) but there must be 50 or more dining options within 100m, including a Tesco attached to the hotel.
This is not the centre of Shinjuku, but it's an easy walk, 12 min at a reasonably fast clip, and the station – Shin Okubo, is just an uncomplicated suburban station where you can't get lost. So you can work out the system without huge pressure. An advantage IMO. Getting to many tourist places is relatively simple therefore.
Check out very quick, one of the desk staff disappeared outside to get a taxi and we were on our way home. 
There was just one minor problem. Instructions for some of the equipment could be better: the electric jug was a bit difficult to use at first, for instance. But on the whole we really enjoyed our stay and would cheerfully come back.
