“" Nice Surprise"”
Reviewed April 22, 2013

Was not really sure of the hotel, till the time i reached there. It worked out prefect ..The location was just perfect for me....close to clients office and right across the Ichigaya station.

taxis cost u a bomb in tokyo and taking the train can be overwhelming for first timers..

.nice clean rooms...very attentive housekeeping and helpful staff. The food was very good though with limited menu. The bathroom space was limited and nearly cramped myslef in the shower but i guess that is normal in Japan.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the street have a nice view..and ask for king size bed...

We were directed to this hotel by organizers of a conference at which I lectured and were very pleased -- so much that we chose to stay an extra few days on our own. Impeccably clean, very attentive housekeeping staff. The bathroom had a wonderful Japanese soaking tub, as well as a spacious shower. Bidet and extra nice supplies of bath soak, toothbrushes, cotton pads, etc. Room size was small as is typical for business hotels in Tokyo, but everything else was very comfortable -- beds comfy, bedspreads cushy and warm, fluffy towels, kimono-style robes and slippers for each of us. The proximity to the Ichigaya metro and train station was exceptionally convenient. Breakfast was sumptuous -- they served both Japanese and Western-style food -- so we got to sample local fare as well as have some familiar comfort foods. Service in the restaurant was perfect -- front desk too, although some shifts did not have individuals who spoke English well. They certainly tried! I don't think we would ever have picked this hotel out of all available in Tokyo, but now that I know about it, I think it's a great choice..

Though it says it's in shinjuku, shinjuku is a little ways away. A 13$ cab ride.
Rooms are nice. Typical Japanese size. I booked a double room so it wasn't too small.
Breakfast was good with eggs, meats, fruits, and Japanese selects.
A block from the ichigaya station. Supermarket near as well as McDonalds.

No wifi. Only LAN cable.
Actually free wifi is very hard to find in Tokyo which is a disadvantage if you are a foreigner.
I didn't mind this hotel since my job was nearby. But it's not the best area if you want the Tokyo experience. It's an office area.

Hotel Grand Hill Ichigaya is easily accessible from the Ichigaya Station. Staff at the Reception are helpful with phone calls, messages, etc. They brought a humidifier to my room promptly when I requested for one.
The room is clean and comfortable.
Meals at the cafe for lunch and dinner was delicious. Breakfast was OK, but another hotel around the same area (Arcadia Ichigaya) offered a wider selection of food for breakfast.
Walking distance to Macdonalds, convenient stores and restaurants.

Hotel Grand Hill is very conveniently located in this business area of Tokyo. It is 3 minutes walking from the Ichigaya JR station. My experience of stay here has been very pleasent. The staff is very prompt and helpful. The rooms are slightly larger than the normally smaller rooms one gets in Tokyo area. The bath and toilet area is also spacious. The room tariff includes breakfast. The breakfast served is very good. For vegetarian like me it is the same stuff everyday but that is fine. Remember to carry cash for payment at the hotel as they do not accept Travellers Cheques (TCs). I carried American Express TCs in Japanese Yen but they asked for Cash. I had to locate a bank at a distance of around 200 mtrs from the Hotel to convert the TCs to Cash. The hotel TV has only 10 channels. 9 of them are Japanese channels and the only english channel is CNN. If you wnat to relax in Hotel room, you will get bored watching only one channel.
