The park is huge, so I'd suggest you rent a bike. We didn't so we walked only a bit and decided to leave. The park is clean and quite pretty (though not the prettiest). Best of all entrance is free!

Thank herbaceous

Yoyogi Park is the best place to go in Tokyo to view the Harajuku styled costume. Be sure to visit this place on sunday where you can view all sorts of activities by the local Japanese. The parks are the places for club meetings and practice sessions and even play rehearsals. Yoyogi draws all sorts of talent, from horn players to hip-hop dancers to rockabilly gangs. There are Elvis-inspired pompadours, who usually gather by the park's east side entrance on Sundays to jam to American pop music from the '50s. Nearby Yoyogi park, there is Harajuku bridge which always gathered together Gothic Lolitas and Cosplay kids especially on sunday. There were also many people bringing their pets for evening walk here. All the pets especially dogs are so adorable as they were well groomed and styled.

We walked around the park in early January so it is winter and the ground was somewhat brown and trees bare. I can imagine that during Spring and Autumn the colours would be great.

The park itself did not seem too big. There are heaps of dog lovers with their dogs here. It was so fun to observe the different dogs in their colourful "clothes" as well as dogs in their "prams". There were also people jogging with the blind leading them by holding their hands via a "band" - that's very nice!

Skateboards and roller blades are not allowed. Bicycles are fine. There were also bird watchers with huge camera lenses.

The water feature in the middle of the park adds to the serenity.

Fantastic park, beautiful gardens. We were lucky enough to also see a traditional Japanese wedding taking place in the park when we visited. Very old trees and well maintained. Go on a Sunday and see all the interesting people !
