“Nice spending 30mins there, but not a must in tokyo.”
Reviewed February 15, 2013 via mobile

I was hoping much more from the place but the whole experience is in Japanese. I can do only read through history presentation but not how to appreciate their beer.

“Enjoyable Museum”
Reviewed January 22, 2013

My husband and I always enjoy checking out beer museums. We've done several around the world and this one was surprisingly well done.

You can view the museum two ways, unguided or guided. We opted for the unguided tour as we were short on time. The area is relatively small but gives a good description of their beer, production, marketing and more. And the descriptions were in both Japanese and English!

The tasting room is only reserved for those taking the guided tour but they have a bar area. You can purchase tickets from the vending machine and try several of their regular beers plus any seasonal specials. There is also a gift shop.

I really liked the open set-up of the museum and being able to grab a beer (or two) at leisure. I hope to return to do the guided tour to see what additional information is offered about the company.

“Good For Rainy Day”
Reviewed November 17, 2012

We went on a very rainy Saturday afternoon. From JR Ebisu station use the skywalk to the entrance pavilion of Yebisu Garden Place. Bear left down the sloped promenade and make a sharp left through the Mitukoshi Department store to the entrance. There were no English tours so we did not get the 500 yen tour and beer tasting. No matter, the " museum" is little more than a history of the Yebisu Brewing Company although interesting. You can buy glasses of Yebisu beer for 400 yen each in a large seating area. Select the number of glasses at a coin machine and take your tokens to the counter and select the type of beer you want (I.e. stout, etc). Find a seat if you can. You can also buy small plates of food. Perfect for a rainy day.

“A history of Ebisu Beer in Yebisu”
Reviewed November 10, 2012

This free museum offers a fanciful stroll through the history of one of Japans oldest beer brewing company's. It's free entry so even if you don't drink alcohol you get a lesson in the Kanto regions industry. This can include a guided tour depending on when you go. Week days is relatively quiet, but you can still sample a glass of tasty Ebisu beer in the museum bar which is to be recommended
