“Really nice hotel”
Reviewed September 16, 2010

This was the final stop on a seven week trip with my daughter and we both agreed that this was a really nice hotel. We caught the Narita Express from the airport to Shinjuku and it was just a short walk to the hotel. Our room was spacious and had 2 large single beds. The air-conditioning and free WiFi worked very well. The bathroom was a good size and had a shower over the tub, the Shiseido toiletries were lovely.

The hotel was spotlessly clean and a newspaper was provided every morning. Breakfast was not included in our rate however there was a Starbucks, Krispy Kreme and various cafes close by. Our room was on the 29th floor and the view, particularly at night, was stunning.

My husband and I stayed here for 6 nights with a room-only rate. It was very convenient for the huge station at Shinjuku and that was a really big plus for us. There is so much walking in Japan that we were always really pleased to get back to Shinjuku station at the end of our sightseeing day because we knew that we were almost back at the hotel for a rest! The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful and check-in was very easy. Although there is no room-service or mini-bar at this hotel there is a very useful small convenience store right next to the lifts. We made use of this as there was a fridge in the room to store your own drinks. We had upgraded to a corner room and it was a good size with a reasonably sized bathroom - not huge but perfectly adequate for our purposes. It was all immaculately clean. We had good views over Tokyo and on two days we could see Mt. Fuji which was quite a thrill! Although the hotel is situated right above the huge station we heard no outside noises and commented on how efficient the double glazing must be!! We had no complaints at all about the hotel and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Was our first stop after arriving in Japan and stayed here for 4 nights. We thought the place was great - easy to get to, great location (especially if you want to do a little shopping), helpful staff, comfortable room, quiet, great views, nice and clean. AND it was so reasonable - coming from New York we expect hotels to cost a fortune, but this was perfectly priced for us. I would definitely stay here again.

This is my fourth stay at Hotel Century Southern Tower and I have recommended this hotel to many friends. The most recent stay was with my partner and 2 young children (who stayed free as they bed shared) and the kids just loved looking out the window onto Tokyo and the train lines that run beneath the hotel.

It is very conveniently located in Shinjuku and just a minutes walk to Takashimaya Times Square (which has an excellent food basement ) and Tokyu Hands. It is also a few minutes walk directly to Shinjuku train station (exit at Southern Tower) and close by are other cafes, francfranc and Kino's at the lower lobby. All of these shops are located on a pedestrian only walkway so there is no traffic to negotiate - great.

The rooms are very spacious and comfortable enough for 2/3 people to share. The room provides all the amenities required and housekeeping are very prompt. The lobby has a very good restaurant and serves an excellent buffet breakfast with ample choice.

I stay here for the great location to the shops, train station and food outlets. There is a small convenience store located at the lobby which fed my late night snack attacks and need for green tea ice-cream. They also have a microwave at the store for guest use so you can reheat the food purchased at Takashimaya easily.

The hotel staff are also very courteous and can provide any information required when requested. They dont have a porter service but you can borrow one of their luggage carts to take up to the rooms.
Overall, its a very good hotel which ticks all the boxes and I will become a regular again.

While there's a lack of facilities (pool) it's a great hotel. Moderate rooms, common areas are very modern. Free wifi in lobby for 2 hour slots.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Got a deluxe room which meant it was slightly bigger and non-smoking. Great size, clean and had all the amenities you could want, when you are staying in a city that has pretty much anything anyway. The staff were professional, cheerful helpful and spoke very good English. It was handy having the shop in the lobby, although there are so many convenience stores around you won't be stuck. The train station ans subway is right next to the hotel, and plenty entrances and exits depending on which line you need to use - get off at the 1st floor for the Toei line and cross the road, or if your are using the JR line get off at the 2nd floor, and it's nearest entrance is close to Kripsy Kreme etc.
The only downside was the wifi in the lobby was very slow - but no big deal when you can find free wifi around the city with relative ease. (Starbucks, Wired cafe etc)
Perfect location, near Shinjuku park, Times Square, plenty cafes etc around. Will definitely use this hotel again when we return!

Well I'm sitting in the CST right now on my second night in Tokyo. It was a doddle to find after our 16 hour journey from London - just go out of the southern entrance of Shinjuku Station (to which the Narita Express now delivers you direct) and there it is. Very convenient for the Station and all points accessible from there, but also a short walk to the shops and eateries of Shinjuku.

Our rooms are on the 30th floor,so the views are magnificent. The staff were helpful, although don't expect to check in before 2 pm. The rooms are an okay size, with lots of extra toiletries. No connecting rooms though, which we might have preferred with our 11 and 15 year olds up until recently. Free internet in the room.

There's an Italian downstairs and another nearby, and a Starbucks. Sorry to sound parochial, but as kosher/veggies there is very little else to eat, much as we normally like Japanese in London.
