this is my second visit to century southern tower (CST) only on this occasion i have a renovated king size room overlooking the west city skyline, rooms on the eastside overlook shijuku goen park. the room is nice and somewhat larger (25m2) all the usual amenities for a japanese hotel of this calibar (3 to 4 star) free toiletries, ice machine and fox movies in the room.. the rooms also have standard tv internet with keyboard and free water everyday
a great touch is the volume button to hear tv in the bathroom!

situated across the road from shinjuku stn exit southern terrace from stn for an easy find.there is no free bfst but there are nice restaurants , the bst is a little pricey 2500yen approx $27 AUD
there are plenty of cafe's, pastry shops, starbucks or mcdonalds nearby for bfst

just to give you an idea ive previously stayed at sunroute plaza shinjuku and best western shinjuku/kabuchiko and the "b ikebukuro" ikebukuro......i feel best western wins due to better value/position and free simple breakfast to start the day although the room is 17m2 just a tad smaller

p.s 500yen $5.50 cocktails weekdays between 5 and 7pm!

Room Tip: ask for renovated room or room east side, corner room is you can afford to

Hotel rooms Japan tend to be small, and I've encountered a few. Our room at the Hotel Century Southern Tower, however, was large by any standards. It was well equipped with Shiseido products, hi-tech toilet, non-fogging bathroom mirror, clothing freshener, fridge, great view, comfy bed; pretty much everything I could ask for.
For a first visit to Tokyo, it's the perfect spot. We walked over to Tokyu Hands immediately, then down the busy streets of Shinjuku. The hotel is walking distance to Golden Gai, The Robot Restaurant, Shinjuku Gyoen Nation Garden, Isotan, the train station, and there are many affordable dining options within walking distance of the hotel.
The staff was friendly and helpful, the lobby has a lovely view, and I have to say, it smelled very nice, which made returning to the hotel after a busy day especially delightful!

hotel was situated near shopping district (Takashimaya), it is also near Shinjuku station making it very accessible to all parts of tokyo. it is also one of the pick-up points for tour activities. it is also a drop-off and pick-up point for limousine bus coming from narita

This is a good hotel in a perfect location. It is three minutes walking from Shinjuku Station, where you can reach airports and get Shinkansen trains and metro. It is just a walking bridge from Tokyu Hands and Takashimaya and a few minutes from Shinjuku and Golden Gai. The renovated room was fine (Panoramic King facing east) and quite large for Tokyo standards, with a great view. We did not try the restaurants because we had hundreds of choices just outside the hotel. Staff are helpful but do not try to get a late checkout, even for a charge. It is nearly impossible. Negatives: the free WiFi is very slow (I rented a portable router for the trip that was faster and more reliable), laundry is very expensive. Overall - would I stay here again? Yes.

Room Tip: Look for a renovated room with a east side view.

We stayed 4 nights in Century Southern Tower while visiting Tokyo in July 2014. Hotel is very nice, the staff is very friendly and views are great (hotel lobby is on 20th floor and rooms above). Also the price was reasonable and room modern and well-functioning (we had renovated room). The main thing for us was the excellent location just couple of minutes from huge Shinjuku station (take the southern terrace exit and you're almost there). From Shinjuku you can travel quickly to almost everywhere in Tokio. Also some of the good department stores and shopping malls are just on walking distance as well as Golden Gai restaurant/bar area. We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel and will probably come back again. The only negative thing was the really bad connection with free wifi which worked only now and then.
