Room standard is good. I chose a refurbished room with a great view over the entertainment area of Shinjuku. Excellent, quick access to JR Shinjuku station and subway, which is especially convenient ent for the Narita Express (use the new south exit).
Room was well equipped and not a bad size for Japan. The mini bar is empty but there are vending machines and a convenience store on site. Breakfast was of good quality and cheaper if you pre-book online.
The main negative is that reception is completely inflexible on check in time and will not entertain requests for early check in. I arrived round 10am from an overnight flight and was effectively told by an unsympathetic receptionist to come back at 2pm. I see similar comments made by others below.
If you will want to check in before 2pm go elsewhere. Otherwise this hotel is pretty good.

Being my first time in Tokyo, I originally had no idea where to stay or even what part of Tokyo to stay in. After reading numerous reviews on Tripadvisor, I came across Hotel Century Southern Tower.

First of all, the location of the hotel is unbeatable. It's 5 minutes to all the big malls. Not into shopping? Well the JR station will take you to any part of Tokyo. It was 2 train stops away from Harajuku and 3 away from Shibuya.

Located 5 minutes from the JR Shinjuku station, when you exit - look for the Southern Terrace Exit and follow that as it will put you on the same street as the hotel. When you exit the station, make a left and at the first corner, make another left and it will lead you in front of a bakery. Continue walking past the Starbucks and Krispy Kreme, and the hotel will be on your right on the 20th floor of a commercial building.

The hotel is very nicely decorated, modern, and CLEAN (but of course, this is Japan so everything is held at a higher standard for cleanliness). The rooms were spacious compared to most standard hotel rooms in Japan, and guest services were prompt to reply to us if we needed more towels, water, etc.

The staff was helpful, and on the first night we got there - we were extremely jet lagged so we were up at 2am hungry. The concierge recommended Ichiran and gave us directions to get there. Best ramen! On our last day, I asked the concierge to translate our Kyoto hotel name from English to Japanese and he went above and beyond. Rather than just writing it in Japanese characters, he printed out the map and directions to the hotel in Japanese so we could show it to our taxi driver.

All in all, excellent service, unbeatable location, and clean rooms. Next time we are in Tokyo, we will be staying here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with east side views. We were on the west side, and the view wasn't as great as it was blocked by a business complex.

This Hotel was the last one we stayed in in Japan, so we were a bit spoilt from being treated so well at all the others. The staff were polite and pleasant, and the room was supposed to be a non-smoking room, but it smelt strongly of cigarettes. They did change our room for us - but they all had an odour of cigarettes. We had to just accept that there was nothing else that could be offered. Having said that, breakfasts were in a fanatastic restaurant with a great view. Mr Keyutci at breakfast looked after us in a very special way as did Mr Nakamura for dinner. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience!
My wife loved the location, being so near to Tokyo Hands and the other large department stores gave her hours of shopping fun!

The hotel is situated at the centre of Shinjuku, which is within 3 minutes walk from Shinjuku Station (South Exit). The lobby is on 20th floor, and all rooms is on 20th floor and above, therefore, can oversee the surrounding of Shinjuku. Although it's surrounded by railway and close to station, the sound was not easily heard except with specific attention.
The rooms was spacious in comparison with other hotels nearby. Breakfast was having good variety, not boring, and nicely presented.

Really nice rooms, spacious and great view over sky scrapers. Very quiet rooms, really an oasis, even during typhoon Wipha we slept like babies. Hotel starts on 20th floor so I would imagine everyone gets a view. Helpful receptionists, but when we asked if we could check in early that was not an option (we had the same issue in Kyoto, so maybe it's a Japanese thing). Convenient location in Shinjuku, just a few minutes walk to the train/metro station (which is huge!). Several cafes in the area where we ate breakfast and plenty of restaurants too.
A bit confusing getting out of the Shinjuku train station and figuring out which direction the hotel was in (no "traditional" street signs), so if I remember correctly (it was a month ago), take exit Southern Terrace. You will see an overpass one floor up, but there is also a street crossing, which is more convenient with luggage, cross the street and continue in the same direction, you will see signs for the hotel quite soon after crossing the street. On our last day we discovered that there is also an exit called "maynds tower" (only for some metro lines I think), if you take that exit you literally end up across the street from the back of the hotel! (Good when it's raining...).
Getting to the hotel from the airport was very convenient, take the NEX (Narita express), no changes, straight to Shinjuku, around 1½ hours.
