I can't recommend this hotel highly enough. The location is brilliant, really easy to get to in this vast city, and the views from the high floor bedrooms are breathtaking - especially at night when the whole city twinkles right outside your window. There is free wi-fi in the bedrooms - which works effortlessly, and large spotlessly clean rooms.

The front desk staff speak good English and are helpful and efficient. Just as everywhere else we stayed in Japan we found the hotels to be very strict about check-in time. If they say 2pm they hold your bags until you can check in at 2pm. However we arrived on an early flight and I emailed ahead to ask about an earlier check-in. They responded very efficiently and very kindly allowed us to check in a 12.

As other reviewers have said there is a very reasonably priced hotel shop just by the lifts, which sells drinks and snacks. They also operate the luggage forwarding service (with the Black Cat courier) which we used to send a suitcase to Kyoto while we took a side trip. The front desk filled in the forms for us in Japanese. Despite my concerns about doing this it worked flawlessly and is one of the best deals in Japan at Y1370 for a 25kg case.

We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Tokyo.

Room Tip: The hotel starts from around the 20th floor of this skyscraper - so all the rooms have a great view of the City. The higher the better and ask for the correct outlook if you want to have a chance of seeing Fuji from your room.

Century Southern Tower Hotel, Shinjuku, Tokyo

Airport Limousine bus direct from Narita Airport to hotel. Good central location a five minute walk to either Shinjuku Railway Station or Takashimaya Department Store building which contains shops, restaurants, supermarkets and food outlets. Good shopping here. Starbucks is even closer to hotel so handy for breakfast. Shinjuku is a major rail interchange but if you need to catch the Shinkansen (high speed) trains as we did, you first have to take another train to Tokyo or other Shinkansen stations.
Very comfortable room with good views across the railway tracks towards Takashimaya and extensive parklands beyond. We were travelling with our eleven year old son and a third bed fitted easily into the space.
Hotel lobby located on 20th floor and all rooms above this level. Excellent lobby shop adjacent to elevators sells everything you might need. Snacks, drinks, electric adapters, stationary items and all at reasonable prices similar to the supermarket.
Large, comfortable room with good lighting, useful desk space with adequate electrical sockets. Smallish, flat security safe in drawer for valuables.
Very large, comfortable beds. Excellent bathroom with heated mirror to stop misting, good bath and shower and latest toilet technology with electric flush and various sprays and mists of adjustable pressure and direction from beneath. Free, continuous internet in room.

Room Tip: Our room overlooked the Takashimaya department store complex and extensive parklands beyond. Very happy with the outlook. Rooms all above 20th floor so no noise from trains.

It is a 4 star hotel according to hotels.com. I booked this hotel through hotels.com. Chose the hotel based on reviews from tripadvisor, its price value and mostly because of its location. It is located in Shinjuku district of Tokyo, just above the Shinjuku station. It has a connecting bridge to Takasyimaya shopping mall (a shopping mall with 13 floors – its really jumbo huge) and the hotel’s building is connected to Shinjuku’s terrace city. Terrace city consists of multiple building connected by pedestrian sky bridges. Its really unique as I have never seen a ‘floating’ pedestrian walkway as huge as the terrace city.

Our room's number is 3355. I.e. on the 33rd floor. So you can imagine the view of the city. We had the east view. That includes Tokyo’s city view and Shinjuku Nationals Garden. So you got a bit of both – green and city. Tokyo’s skyline is really bright at night with red flashing lights on top of almost every building. Its like the city is alive even at night.

We booked a superior room with extra bed for 4 nights. The price of the hotel does not include breakfast. Almost every hotel in Tokyo does not come with complimentary breakfast. But the room is worth the price we paid for 3 people. It has extra bed, and all the toiletries and room amenities comes in 3. FREE WIFI! FREE INTERNET TV - comes with wireless keyboard too. Awesome.

There is no minibar but there is a refrigerator. We bought food and stuff from Family Mart nearby the hotel and kept them in it. The room has complimentary coffee and tea – thank god. Also McDonald is just 3 minutes walk from the hotel.

The bathroom has a bath without separate shower. Japanese toilet (i.e. electronic toilet with bidet and spray). The toilet seat is heated. Love love Japanese toilet. The shampoo, conditioner, bath gel and also face foam cleanser are from Shiseido. Nice touch. Another nice touch is the room slippers. It comes in 2 set for each person. 1 which is made from PVC/rubber (probably for toilet use) and 1 is the standard bath slipper like any other hotel. Did I mention about hairband and rubber hair band too as part of their toiletries. Very thoughtful. They don’t provide bathrobe, but they provide pyjamas.

Another cool feature is, when taking bath in the bathroom, the heat causes steam and thus, the mirror will be faded in hot steam except for certain part of the mirror – meaning you don’t have to wipe the mirror with your hands when you get out from the shower to wash your face or see your reflection. It amazes me how the they can even think of that in detail.

Next time I come to Tokyo, I will not hesitate to book this hotel again. Pay a little bit extra but the extras come with great value.

Cons:
The 3rd extra bed is a bit hard so my sister did not use it and shared my bed instead.

Room Tip: Pick the highest floor that has either Mount Fuji view or Shinjuku Gyoen garden view (comes with city view too).

Airport Limousine Bus service all the way to the hotel at specific timing.
Check in at level 20 of the building so rooms are all on high floors with nice views. Had a room that overlook Takashimaya. There's a link walkway to Takashimaya and the shopping mall had a nice supermarket and food mall for sashimi, fruits and bakery stuffs.
About 15mins leisure walk to Shinjuku station, more eateries and convenient stores along the way.
Rooms are of decent size and clean.

Followed reviews and booked this hotel and was not dissapointed. Centrally located 3 minutes walk from Shinjuku station wih easy access to Narita Express, JR and subway trains. The hotel starts on the 20 floor therefore great view of the city from the room. New hotel, great amenities, on top of Shinjuku terrace and across the street from Takashimaya mall - easy access for local dining and shopping. would definately revisit.
