This seemed crazy, but it was amazing to experience the famous Shibuya scramble crossing personally, watched it from a distance and to be back another day. It is a great place to roam around and kill time - there are many shops and restaurants to explore and chill. The place is especially energetic during night time.

This may be always the most busy place of Tokyo. It is cool to watch the crowds crossed at the crossing in different directions. Make sure to spend enough time here if you want to shop.

I've been here twice. Shops, bustle, restaurants, bustle, that amazing crossing, bustle, and more bustle.

Great people-watching, great to explore.

Top recommendation - Starbucks overlooking the crossing. Sit down, nurse your feet, have a cold iced latte while watching the hordes surge over the zebra stripes below. The cafe mind-melds into a music shop, kind of weird, but hey, this is Tokyo, weird is normal!

Don't forget to visit the dog at the station. Odd, but both times I've visited here, I've also visited Greyfriars Bobby on the same itinerary.

Tons of shops and restaurants everywhere!

Came here with friends on Valentines day and saw men dressed up a giant hearts outside the 109 shopping building (can't miss it, has a large red lighted "109" sign on top) - squeee. I don't speak Japanese but it appeared to be a combination game show/advertisement.

Shibuya crossing was really cool to see. Starbucks window has a great view of the gigantic crosswalks with hundreds of people all crossing the street at the same time but it was easier to just walk into the JR station and view the crossing from the large windows there - free, no need to feel bad about not buying a drink, etc.

If you want to shop or not this place is great just to wander through the crowds and see what different kinds of stores and cafes there are! If you have time, try visiting in the day and the again at night! Including the Shibuya crossing
