You can walk from hiroo station hibiya line for about a minute and you will fell like you are in tuscany ,when you enter IL BUTTERO cannot miss the big pizza oven where they make also bread like italians used to make many years ago in maremma . I remember when il buttero opened about 20years ago i was a bit too yung the resto was trendy and hard to get a table at the time from the beguinning i use to go with my friends on weekend and i was surprise after so many years when i was invited by an old friend last week that the food quality was still high and the italian waiters a bit older but still nice . surprisingly the prices were not high and the trees in the terrace aria were huge after so many years .i highly recommend the fresh pasta but also the home dessert are Owsome!I kids friendly i will take my family next month for our Anyversary

Great food friendly service and fantastic restaurant in the middle of tokyo!!! You will be amazed by the tranquility you can enjoy even though you are around the corner from a busy street of tokyo traffic... I lived in Rome for many years and I fell in love with Italian food right from the start , on the way back to the phil I had a stop over in tokyo for 2 days and highly recommend by my friend I went to il Buttero 5 min away from Shibuya station by taxi . The ambiance is like to be in Italy most of the waiters are Italian and even the Japanese staff speaks Italian I was stunned!! Can't tell you how good was the bistecca tagliata with rucola really tender... but my favourite dish was the freshly home made TAGLIOLINI with lamb sauce food from the gods !! I heard they open a branch in manila I will check it out for sure hope is the same food!!

This restaurant is hidden in the back streets of the foreigner-heavy Hiroo district, in a series of funky old buildings that seem to have been mended together, with some inviting garden space. The ambiance itself is quite appealing. There were three in our party for dinner last week, and while we were given a table wothout having to make advance reservations, the service was sloppy and slow, if genial in that characteristically Italian way. The food was boring and the duck two of us ordered was hard to cut with a knife (impossible) and close to tasteless. The little bits of beard the waiters bring you seem like leftovers. Stale and flavorless. For the prices, this place doesn't deliver at all. I think it survives mainly on its luncheon patronage from the nearby neighborhood.
