If you like yakitori then this is the place. It's on the other side of shibuya station from shibuya crossing. They seem hesitant of tourist (give unusually long wait time) as this place is mostly locals getting a bite after work. We went twice and although we were told a half hour plus wait, we were seated with in 10 min.
This place offers everything from chicken, steak and pork to beef tongue and gizzards.
The charcoal flamed goodness was fantastic. Our favorite was the pork with a vinegar dipping sauce. Wow!!!
I highly recommend this place.

After seeing the other review on tripadvisor we sought this venue out. We walked through the area looking and eventually spotted it on the corner with a grey sign above the door. It didn't show that it had an English menu at first sight but when inside they were supportive and provided a good English menu with both translated and "Romanji" names.

The service was prompt, the food was excellent and the price was fair. The atmosphere was not smart, it is a little tavern that closes relatively early (9pm), but it is exciting and enjoyable.

I stumbled upon this place while wandering near Shibuya station just before dinner. I was drawn in by the large crowd and English menu.

The vibe during the post-work rush (6-8PM) was lot's of fun, with lots of office workers streaming in, and the staff hollering orders to the cooks manning the grills and deep fryers.

The chicken w/ spring onions skewers were particularly good.

There are also a wide variety of mixed drinks based on shochu and some other Japanese liquors that I haven't encountered before.

If I had to recommend one izakaya from my trip to Tokyo, this would be it.
