“fashion and fun!!”
Reviewed March 18, 2014

this shopping street in harajuku is great for nic nacs, japanese souvenirs and mainly fashion street fashion. being a male in my mid twenties and in the fashion industry there is no better place to soak up the atmosphere and shop and explore like takeshita dori. there are cool little boutiques and mainstream retail outlets it has everything. it is very crowded with locals and a lot are very fashionable in wearing costumes and very amazing outfits. just out of the street is plenty of other things to do also every type of shop from sport to electronics and all types of restaurants from american to turkish kebabs. great place to visit!!!!

“Small and short”
Reviewed March 14, 2014

It takes about 1 hour to see the little shops and walk from start to finish. We came on a weekday since I heard weekends are very crowded. We started from the entrance by Harajuku JR Trains station and at the end we turn left onto the Omotesando. We stopped for crepes midway through the street. I would plan other stops to go along with Takeshita Dori

“Good for a short visit”

Full of quirky shops and interesting locals. Easy to see the start of the street as soon as you get off the train at Harajuku station. Stroll through to Omotosando.

This was probably the thing I was most excited about during my time in Tokyo. We got there quite early on a Sunday morning but had to wait around until 10:30-11:00am to see the true 'quirkiness' of Harajuku fashion, and the lolita girls. If you are there with the intent of people watching, I recommend finding a place to stand and watch the people filter through, as the street is quite narrow and VERY busy. KEEP YOUR CAMERA IN YOUR HAND- Blink and you miss!
I did not buy anything in my short time at Harajuku, though there is a range of products and price ranges to suit most shoppers. Make sure you buy a crepe. :)

“A must see”
Reviewed March 7, 2014

Harajuku district, where young Japanese, most of them dressed in fancy dresses inspired by the Japanese many comics, come to shop in the area's small specialty shops, especially in the street Takeshitadori. But IF one hate crowds do not go here! This place is crazy, so many people you'll feel like Christmas time,. very crowded! And so much noise too. BUT a great place for teenagers to find all sorts of cool fashion accessories and clothing. One will have the opportunity to see girls dressed up in Harajuku style walking in the street or working in the shops.
So many shops crammed in such a tiny space. Just go....
