Highly recommend Kaikaya restaurant. Amazing food with a first class service.

We had the incredible fresh tuna, spare rib style which is the house special at 1000 JPY.
The self roll sushi is to die for and also alot of fun. Recomnend the Sangria, it is authentic with a Japanese twist. Shared a pitcher at 1350 Yen approx £7.

Overall an excellent restaurant in Shibuya with a relaxed, welcoming environment. Definitely a must!!!

Great,

Thank Bethan C

Booked for 7pm on a Thursday evening and in finding the restaurant discovered a great area to explore.
We booked the smoking section as we were advised that it was more entertaining than the non smoking area, and although a reformed smoker I wasn't at all effected by any smokers. Was a good move to watch all the happenings around us.
Started with a mixed sushimi which was very good. It's crowning glory was the melt in your mouth very fatty tuna. 7 species were represented and all were very good. Fresh steamed prawns marinated in vodka followed. An interesting way of doing them. Then we had tuna on the bone, again very good and different to any other tuna I have had. That was followed by prawn and corn fritters, sweet and done well. Then prawns in prawn sauce which was very good too.
Washed down with a bottle of French Chardonnay. The table next door were enjoying a sake in a box so I had to try one. Too much to eat and drink we left a happy couple.
Thoroughly recommend the experience. Because of the alcohol the bill ended up about ¥13,000.
Would happily return. Very noisy but good fun.

We had a very wonderful seafood dinner at the restaurant. The fresh seafood makes the restaurant lives up to its name "By the Sea"....

The service is excellent and the waiters speak good English and recommend their specialities to us. The highlights include: Tuna cheek/rib in special sauce, fresh sashimi, fresh tiger prawn.

The only downside is that the restaurant is not exactly at Shibuya central. It is a good 20+ minutes away from Shibuya or take Keio line to Shinsen station from Shibuya. But it is worth the trip!

This restaurant was recommended to us by the hotel's concierge, and for good reason! An eight course meal that had some of the best sashimi I have ever eaten! The chef's favorite part was their shrimp with shrimp sauce, and I agree! OMG! My only complaint was just too much food! The restaurant is next to shinsen station, about two minutes walk.

Best meal I've had in Japan so far! Flawless set menu - usually you get a few forgettable dishes, but this was 8 courses of perfectly served seafood, really fresh, very tasty. The whole place has a great atmosphere, so lively and fun. Absolutely a must!
