We were living right around the corner and had walked by several times. Past those little curtains hides the Japanese pub with the best food and atmosphere. This was the best Grilled Mackerel ever. The staff was very attentive and we enjoyed watching the chef prepare the dishes with such care. Highly recommended.

Try the Niku Jaga (beef with potato stew), Ebi to Mayo (Prawns with raw egg). Grilled Mackerel, Braised pork, Cheese tofu.

Best you will ever have. I can bet on that.

Great atmosphere, service and food. Hard to find which but is all worthwhile. Sit at the counter and enjoy the show. Best when busy.

This place had the right mix of buzzing atmosphere, attentive staff, and tasty food. The chefs put on a great display for you and they are attentive to the smallest detail (first place in Tokyo that we got asked about any potential food allergies before ordered). It's true that it's not the easiest place to find but it's not impossible either. Coming down the hill from the train station swing a right at mister donut and then an immediate left. Shirube is on the right with white curtains draped in front. The sign in front says 'Izakaya-ism' (don't ask me why it doesn't just say Shirube!). Also reservations are a must as the place was packed (mainly with locals) when we got there.

An izakaya at its glowing best. I wish Sydney had places like this!

This tiny almost underground restaurant is so full of life. Absolutely devine food and the atmosphere is great with all the chefs almost putting on a show for you. We'll worth the treck.
